I forgot which brand of moss I had bought previously that I liked.
I normally like Zoo Med's products so I figured their moss would probably be good.
I could not believe how many sticks and and bio garbage there was in it. It didn't even resemble moss. It was so coarse and scratchy I didn't want to use it for my crabs' moss pit.
I tried to pick through it but, there wasn't anything worth trying to keep. I threw the whole box away. To return it would have cost me more in gas and time than the moss did. (70 miles round trip)
Never again for this moss!

I had purchased this for my Leopard Gecko hide. My Leopard Gecko did not like it, it doesn't hold moisture too well. It does not stick together and is all over the place. The smell of it is the worse part.
Cons: price, messy

I purchased this stuff yesterday at Petsmart. I put most of it in with my toad, Jumpy, but I put the rest in my LongTail Lizard tank. The toad likes burrying himself in it, and the lizard burrows through it like a little snake. It is overall pretty good.
Pros: looks great
Cons: messy

I was using this and found a snail shell in it. Also, it has a lot of dead leaves in it and other non-moss stuff. Great that it is all natural, but it isn't all moss. The moss part does hold moisture well, but that's about it!

This type of moss isnt really meant for keeping a tank humid. Most of the time this moss is used was part of a mix for substrate. Such as mixing with various organic soils, orchid chips and coco bedding....The coco bedding and soils keep the moisture in while the moss and chips help the soil drain, which will allow many types of ferns and mosses to grow.
I use this moss strictly for decoration, as most of my tanks contain dart frogs, it works great if you mix in the moss with soil or coco, and stick it with silicone to the background. Various vines and air plants love to attach themselves to it.
Pros: works great for drainage, sometimes comes alive with enough time & moistur
Cons: can be messy if not sure on its uses

This stuff is GARBAGE! I wanted to place it in my Terrarium to make it look more realistic, but it just made it more Unrealistic! So after I tried to remove it all, there were still pieces of it everywhere and it pretty much ruined my substrate!
Cons: messy, cheap, crickets can hide under it

I've been shopping around for this type of natural moss and really this is the only I could find with the right 'ingredients'
It doesn't hold nearly as mush humidity as I hoped even after soaking it, and alot of whats inside the box can't even be used, I'm not even sure if it's moss.
Overall it's not really a good way to aid humidity, it's more like tank decoration if you DO find decent pieces of moss in this box.
Cons: very dirty and mostly unsusable, doesn't hold moisture
