I enjoyed this book thoroughly. It gives a lot of information on Bettas regarding the different kinds, care, feeding and housing. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like a little more than just the basic information. The author presents more than just the basics. A must have for any serious Betta keeper!

This book is not really for the beginning betta hobbyist. It contains a lot of technical and historical info that would overwhelm a child or someone who just needs a "fact sheet" on betta care. Other books such as animal planet's are a great start for those who need to know the basics of betta care.
This book is great for those who are looking to breed bettas, raise live food, or need information on betta breeds not limited to the common betta splendens.
Pros: informative, quality photos

When I bought this book, I was hoping for a somewhat easy step-by-step manual for how to take care of the fish on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. But, I didn't really find that information in this book. However, this book thoroughly details all different types of bettas: bubblenesting bettas and mouthbrooding bettas. I'm just a beginner in taking care of a betta fish! There's a chapter of the betta history and the geography of bettas and even a betta genetics chapter. Possibly the only 3 chapters of relevance to the average betta owner are about types of betta foods, betta diseases and breeding bettas information.
