Freckles, the Pyrenees, enjoyed his combing & raking. It was easier than I expected.

I own two Shiba Inu dogs and shedding is a major issue, especially when they blow their coats twice a year. This is the best product I have ever used to remove all the excess hair, especially that double coat. The best part is that the dogs love it as well.

I purchased the undercoat brush/rake combo. The rake portion was very gentle, and she didn't mind it used on underbelly or tail. This really helped loosen her undercoat and remove gentle tangles prior to another deshedding tool. Most hair and tangles remain in the rake and must be pulled off by hand. We kept a vacuum on, and just stuck it up to the hose :)
She enjoyed the blade portion and it removed about as much hair as a 'looped shedding blade' though was a bit more awkward to use since you can't simply change the direction/location as quickly as with the 'blade.' No big deal. Hairs loosened by the blade will fly away or pile up where you stopped raking.
Our dog was traumatized last year by a bad groomer session and grooming hasn't been the same since. She enjoyed the use of this tool, and I noticed no damage to her skin.
My doggie is in full blow, and we have not been able to remove her hair as regularly as usual for the past month, so we did need a little more help. We also purchased the ShedMonster for long hair and we were AMAZED by the amount of hair removed, repeatedly, from the same spot.
After two hours, we stopped and we have a loooong way to go. But Maya looks GREAT, her coat is shiny, she looks sleeker, and she was happy!
These two tools, along with our large slicker brush, are helping to reach her summer look! I'm very pleased and recommend this tool.
I love Petsmart and their easy return policy. I encourage you to buy and try until you find what works. Our pets are individual, just like us!
Pros: gentle, shiny coat, Shed Prevention

I have Pembroke Welsh Corgi's which are double coated dogs. I've tried a vast array of grooming brushes even included flea combs for their shedding. It wasn't until a Petsmart Groomer showed me this shedding rake that I really found a solution!
This does a pretty good job when combing with the coat, but I find it more effective(And my dogs LOVE it!) if I go against their coat. They think I'm rubbing their backs! I got a lot of true undercoat fur then I did with the furminator. Overall, I am VERY happy!
Also, the price is hard to beat!

I have a white Siberian Husky; currently she is 8 months old. I bought this brush before she even had an undercoat, and I'm sure glad I did! Now that it's grown in, I use this brush almost daily. The long pins work extremely well at straightening out her undercoat and detangling any long fur, and it works pretty well at removing the loose undercoat hair as well. I use the razor edge mostly to strip dried mud from her coat after a romp in the park, and it also works amazingly well for removing loose fur from her most fluffy spots.
I would never use the razor edge on areas with less fur, such as her legs, because it is fairly sharp, but on the longer fur it works great.

We have a 15-month white German Shepherd and dark wood floors, so I see every day how much she sheds. I bought the double row rake that also has the jagged teeth on the opposite side. The rake side does a fantastic job of getting undercoat hairs and the opposite side of the brush does an awesome job of removing the loose top hairs. It's summer in St. Louis right now, so I find it's best to brush every single day right now and I get a TON of hair off of her. We bought this brush as an alternative to the $50 Furminator. I figured I'd give this one a shot before shelling out the big bucks, and I am glad I did. This gets a phenomenal amount of hair off our German and it cost about a fifth of what the Furminator would have cost. The dog loves it also (or maybe she just loves the attention). My mother has one for her Golden Retriever (although she doesn't need the jagged side as much) and it works awesome for her as well. Dogs look well-groomed and the vacuum doesn't have to run as much in the house!
Pros: cost, collects hair from undercoat and topcoat, dogs tolerate it very well
