This was a waste of 20 dollars. My bird had this chewed through the first day it was put in his cage. Made of cheap material and over priced for what you are actually getting.
Cons: easily destroyed

I bought one of these for my two Senegals since they don't like to let me trim their nails. First of all the perch is made of a hollow cheap plastic that could easily be snapped and broken by a busy beak.
The mounting mechanism is also made of all plastic and only correctly fits cages with vertical bars; in other words their feet will be on the sand side and their claws on the smooth side rendering it pointless. The sand is held on by a cheap glue and comes off after scrubbing droppings out of it, not to mention holds in some droppings and looks unattractive. The sand has completely failed to even slightly trim my birds' nails at all after almost a year of use. I DO NOT recommend this cheaply made perch for the price you pay for it.
The birds do like to sit on it however but all I got out of this was an overly expensive colored perch.
Cons: price, easily destroyed, difficult to clean

My bird enjoys this perch a LOT. This is her favorite perch. I purchased the larger one which we ended up getting in green which we were more than happy with, and ever since we attached it into my bird's cage she has loved it.
It keeps nails trimmed and is very easy to clean. The sandy texture is there to stay. The sand has never fallen off! It is a great perch for my bird and she loves to fly to and from it. We sometimes cannot get her off that perch because she loves it so much! I'm very pleased with this perch, will definitely buy more!
Pros: durable, Keeps Nails Trimmed, easy to clean

If you look closely, very closely, at the photo of this product, you'll see that sand only covers 50% of the perch. If you rub it with your finger lightly, the sands comes fight off. The product is hollow and feather-light. This product is utterly substandard. I returned mine for a refund.

I have one of these perches and I see my babies on it quite a bit. It's a nice difference from the regular branch I have in their cage. It's definitely worth the added expense.

I have bought these perches for 3 out of 4 of my birds and I absolutely love them and so do my birds. I intend to buy a perch for my 4th bird....I just didn't get a chance to order him 1.
My senegal is difficult to groom so I thought I would give these perches a try and they work awesome! Not only does the perch do a wonderful job at keeping his toe nails trimmed, but he loves to sit on it and rub his beak on it.
My amazon also loves to sit on hers.
Pros: keeps toe nails trimmed., my senegal & amazon enjoy sitting on their perches
Cons: a tad bit costly but worth it.
