My dog has very sensitive skin and is usually itchy after a bath--especially if it's with a flea shampoo. Her skin seems a lot calmer after washing her with this shampoo and it killed all the fleas!
Pros: easy to use, effective

I have a 12 year old dachshund who has always in her late years had very itchy skin!.... I searched and searched for anything that would help her feel better. Anything always lasted over night but her itching would continue the next day!
Finally I heard Oatmeal based shampoos always works on most dogs. I went and bought the zodiac oatmeal shampoo, lathered her up and let it sit for about 10 minutes and then rinse her off, and to my surprise, she very rarely itches!!! I give her regular baths now every 3-4 weeks and there is no more itching or whining, and her hair has grown back completely!!!
Pros: easy to use, effective, price

I have searched several pet sites trying to find other sources of this product. I have used bottles of it over our 5 year residency here- and have found that in conjunction with premise treatment with Sevin - (ants, fleas, ticks, etc. don't stand a chance) I have been able to ABANDON Frontline for good. I felt Ftline was pricey and the protection was dicey. You DO have to pay attention to the directions here- it kills adult flea/tick/lice on contact but the 28 days is for growth inhibition of new fleas- already on the dog. This doesn't mean your dog can't pick up new adults ! So if you're walking in infested area, or in my case, your well-meaning neighbors stash of alley cats keep reinfestation imminent, it means a bath every 10 days or so... so I figure I'm applying it twice as often as I would have the Ftline. It is WAY more cost-effective, even including the yard treatment. I have had VERY few adult fleas in this time - so I'm buying another bottle for the crew this summer! The scent is pleasant, and while I don't consider it "great" for my breed's coat, it is far better than other products and tolerable for the protection it provides.
Pros: smells great

I absolutely LOVE this shampoo. I have used it for a while and it works! I have had my dog for over 6 years and this is the only shampoo I have used on her. I have only had to treat her for fleas 1 time in 6 years of using this. Even my Vets office wanted to know what I used! She also has very dry skin so I appreciate the oatmeal formula.

I use this on all my dogs and have had no problems and it does do what it says if used correctly.
You need to leave it on all the way down to the skin so it soaks in.
For the face simply get the chin ears and throught really good and apply a small amount to snout area carefully around eyes and on head. I use a wash cloth or sponge sometimes to rinse and apply so that I do not get it in my dogs eyes.
You can also tilt the dogs head back and let the water from the head flow back away from face. Then pour or use sponge to rinse snout/muzzle and wipe with a clean cloth around eyes with clear water.
A groomer will always use eye drops after a bath to flush they eyes anyway so do this no matter what shampoo u use. You can get this at PetSmart or use plain old salin. Or in a pinch water.
The most important thing is to use a lot of lather and get it all over the body even the feet and head. Then lighlty facial area with care. Make sure you get it all the way down to the skin!
You have to let it sit on the hair and skin so it will kill and keep fleas etc.. off and dead for a month or longer.
It has always worked for me and does it's job for a good amount of time.
It also smells good and really makes their hair soft!
A flea bath should be done correctly to last and work on contact.
If u just throw the soap on and rinse too fast of course it won't work.
Just follow the directions and take just little time and do get the ears good both on the outer furry part an if theyhave long spaniel ears get the underside good too.
This shampoo works like a spray. It is meant to work for awhile and break the flea cycle.
Good luck and enjoy the results!
Amy
Pros: works, let it sit on skin and hair for a few minutes, apply lightly around face area and cover eyes, fairly priced

Horrible

This stuff did not work. It warns you not to get the shampoo any where close to the dogs eyes. So i followed the directions. When i dryed my dog off i noticed about 25 fleas running across my poor dogs eyes. It seemed that all the fleas just went around the eyes, where the product could not be applyed. Also, within hours they started to spread to the rest of her body. I would not recommend this to anyone.
