I have had my Biube since Christmas 2006. It is easy to take care of and looks like a living artwork. It is very attention-getting and everyone who has seen it is impressed by how unusual and interesting it looks.

2 months I have had this BiUbe and I have been very pleased with it. It has been and will continue to be an easily maintainable fish tank that both the fish and us can enjoy. The large volcano really decorates and works well with the BiUbe, with the bubbles coming out the top. Is like a piece of furniture in the home. Get it, you will be pleased.

I have owned my Biube for just over a year now and have had several problems maintaining this aquarium. First, the replacement filters are almost impossible to find. After the impossible part comes the $10 each part! Prices have gone up nearly $3 each since I started buying them in Feb. 06. I have emailed Reef One on several occasions requesting they send them directly to me since I cannot seem to find them in any store on a regular basis. Secondly, the aquarium has several cracks about an inch below the top that are between 1cm and 1in long. They started appearing gradually about 8 months into my ownership. These cracks go all the way around the aquarium, and although they are (all 20 or so) hidden by the lid for now, I'm sure that time and water pressure will cause them to eventually grow larger producing leaks. The worst problem with this aquarium is the overall headache of trying to clean the thing without scratching the acrylic or disassembling the entire setup! Trying to reach all the way down to the bottom to change a filter without dislodging all of the scenery you spent hours securing to the near weightless ceramic media is a pain (not to mention getting it all in place with the awkward shape)! Any plants for this aquarium should be weighted! Reef One does not provide many accessories specifically for this product, so you are left trying to jeryrig other brands. You're not supposed to move the rocks too much or you will scratch the sides of the aquarium (which I have done quite a bit while syphoning). Lastly, I do not find the under gravel filter to be the best choice for keeping the aquarium clean. The filter does not pull anything from between the rocks like it should...not enough to matter anyway. Usually I syphon the aquarium at least once a week to insure proper water quality for the fish since fish waste and uneaten food resting in the bottom cause toxic ammonia levels to rise in the water. I much prefer something like the Eclipse hanging filter system which provides the bio filter. This filter is much more efficient at keeping wastes and toxin levels down. I would not purchase this aquarium again no matter how appealing the clarity and style may be.

This is the perfect tank for beginners. I find that the tank is easy to maintain and my fish seem to love it. I just hope they come out with a larger BiUbe in the future.

this aquarium is soooo cool! it is really expensive though. It looks very space-age on the outside and it is pretty big so it can have more fish than the smaller biorb.

I really love this tank (I have had it about a year). It only has two drawbacks in my opinion. First, it is difficult to find accessories and maintenance items; and, second, there isn't any way to put the light on a timer without buying the fancy (and waaaay more expensive) lighting upgrade. When I shop for my tanks, I like to browse accessories in the store, and I haven't really found a lot for the biube. All of the necessary and optional accessories are online, though.
It took some creativity to develop a beautiful aquascape since all of the decorations seem to be rectangular. It is a real showplace for beautiful driftwood with some java fern or other low light plant.
The even lighting really shows off colorful fish, and active or playful fish are on even better display. Maintenance (except for finding the stuff) is very easy. I have found it to be much easier to maintain than either my smallest (2.5 gallon) tank or my largest (55 gallon) tanks. Between the once every three weeks water change and substrate vacuuming, you need only feed the fish (and maybe add a little water). Plus, it looks really, really cool!

The biUbe is a beautiful tank. It holds 2-3 goldfish easily with lots of swimming room. It fits in a room with more flexibility than a typical square tank.
My only hesitation is that its width made it difficult to get suction going with a siphon while cleaning at first -- it's much deeper than wide, and most siphons are built for the opposite shape. Once we figured out how to do it (thanks, turkey baster!), we've had no problems.
