i have a kitten named Bella i got heer theses bowls, I have heard that plastic isn't good for kittens, but so far i havn't had technical problem with it. You must have fresh water for a kitten/cat at all times which is a pain to refill every morning, and the feeder sometimes provides a little too much food.

i had a pink petmate le bistro, i love it, i think. i needed a new one. The new auto waterer would leak where the base snaps in at.
Pros: don't have to refill all the time., easy to clean
Cons: leaks at the seams, gets dirty quick.

Owners of mischievous kitties think twice ...

I think this is a good product ... for certain cats. John the cat used it with no problems. But my other cat, Marmalade, who gets into everything, was fond of playing in and eventually tipping this waterer over as soon as I'd filled it. I stopped using it because it was easier to fill and refill (and clean up after) a smaller bowl of water, and I was worried that so much water spilling so often would damage my neighbor's ceiling (I live in an apartment). I got a hand-me-down Drinkwell fountain for Christmas, and I'm hoping that satisfies my cat's waterlust without becoming a mess.

Good convenience and concept, BUT....

I've had this waterer for my 1 year old cat since I got him at 2 months. Since I am frequently away for 2 days at a time, the convenience factor is great, and ensures that he always has water....however, the water is definitely not the freshest. Within hours of filling the waterer the water collects particles and gets very dirty, and at that point my cat just jumps onto the sink and waits for me to run the water rather than drink from it. I have tried every cat safe cleaning product and nothing seems to keep it very clean for more than a day.
Overall, a useful product but the water quality does not stay good for very long. If you're using this for daily use and you can clean it daily, it's excellent, but if you're going to be away for days at a time, I'd say you really should splurge and buy a pet fountain for the happiness and health of your pet.
Pros: convenient
Cons: water gets dirty too quickly

Feeder good, waterer not so good.

I gave the waterer to a friend who has something like 4 or 5 cats, whereas I only have 2, and they didn't drink the water fast enough to keep it from getting food bits and hair in it. The resevoir is a pain to clean, since it only has a little opening, so I'd fill it with water and soap, let it soak, and then rinse it with scalding hot water. And filling it was a pain - inevitably I'd find myself and the kitchen counter covered in water. Frankly I think my cats would have prefered just having a couple water bowls (I switched to the Drinkwell fountain). It's a great concept, just one that requires a bit more complexity to execute properly. If you're going away for awhile, though, it's certainly great in a pinch!
The feeder, on the other hand, is great! The pop-off top makes it super easy to fill up (I don't have to take it apart or anything like you do with the waterer). Only when it gets close to empty do you have to shake it a little yourself - but then you might as well just fill it up again!
The ONLY downside might be that you can't keep track of how much your cats are eating, but that would require either a standard food bowl or a much more expensive portion-control feeder. My cats aren't overeaters so I don't worry about that.
Pros: feeder is very convenient, great for when you're away
Cons: waterer not good for everyday use, not able to control feeding

We have the one-gallon set in black for the waterer and blue for the feeder. My dad bought these because our one cat kept breaking the other bowls or eating all the food in the middle of the night and then waking us up because there was no food in their bowls. Then we got our dog and he kept running out of water when everyone was at school or work so we put the water one in the kitchen and kept the food one in the laundry room. Our dog, Oscar, isn't allowed in the laundry room. All our pets (except the fish) can go in the kitchen.
Pros: fill up every few days instead of every few hours
Cons: bottles fall over if ur not careful

I'm not so sure about this product if you have a little monster like I do. But I think her way of saying she did not like this certain product was very clear. She managed to tip over the waterer, leaving a big mess and I have no idea how she did it but she managed to chew holes in not one but two of the feeders and drag them across the room. I would make sure your pet becomes familiar with this item before leaving them alone with this feeder.
Pros: microban, easy to clean, pretty blue color
Cons: kitty ate it, easy to tip over

These are pretty good, however the waterer gets dirty very easily and needs to be cleaned often or else the inside gets gross fast. These should not be used outdoors, as I have seen a dog's Le Bistro waterer stationed in the backyard that was infested with bloodworm larvae.
Pros: convenient
Cons: easy to knock over, needs frequent cleaning

The Bottomless Pit (Figuratively Speaking)

This is kind of a funny product because if you give a dog a full food feeder, he will eat every drop of it in the first day. A cat will snack on the food from the feeder for weeks! If you give a cat a full water feeder, she will drink out of it for a day or two and then neglect it from there on out until you put fresh water in it again. On the other hand, a dog will drink all of water no matter how many days it's been sitting there. And there lies the riddle. What to do? What to do? What I have done is this: I have 2 cats and 1 dog. The dog uses the water feeder and a metallic, nonslip bowl for his food and the cats use the food feeder and a small, porcelain dish for their water. So, the cats never run out of food (with fresh water daily) and the dog never runs out of water (2 meals/day)! It's a wonderful little situation!

I love the waterer! (have not tried feeder)

My kitten always used to drink out of a plain bowl with water that I would replace twice a day - but since I got this product he seems to actually ENJOY drinking! Even when the machine "bubbles" making a loud noise the kitten just finds this to be so much fun! He will jump back and then pounce towards the machine and swat at the water and then jump up to me and then back down again like its the best game he has ever played! I like that I can go a few days without replacing water and it stays very clean and when I do clean it out (each time I replace the water) it is very simple. I never have a problem with inserting the bottle into the holder (it is helpful to wait until you are at the location where the water bottle will be). My kitten has never knocked it over (and my family's large chocolate lab has gotten into and yet nothing spilled too!) All in all it saves time, is clean, looks fine, and most of all my kitten loves it!

I love that I don't have to worry about checking the water bowl every day. Not to mention, for some reason this doesn't collect dirt and food like just having a plain water dish around! It stays clean, too, no mold or mildew or anything!

This product is so convenient!
The top of the bowl portion pops off but it doesn't effect the efficiency of the product.

The problem with this product, is that if you don't own a special utensil to clean all areas of the inside of the one used for your cats water, it will grow algae and bacteria. This can make your pet very sick.

I bought the food bin feeder for three cats, as they are always hungry it seems. This thing needs to be seriously redesigned. You have to put your hand up into the bin that holds the food and pull it down, or shake it like mad, doesn't this defeat the purpose? It needs to have a steeper slope for the food to "flow" outward, tried to come up with something on my own with no luck-DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$$$$!!!!!

The container itself is mold-free as advertised; however, the bowl is not. I suggest washing the bowl in the dishwasher to kill any mold / fungus. I see the problem to be not in the water itself, but in the food the cats drop into the bowl.
The bowl also attracts any hair, lint or other airborne objects available. For two cats I have found it better to fill the container halfway and then wash the bowl once that has been used up.
In hindsight I would have gone for one of the waterers that keeps the water moving and / or filtered. If you're going to spend the money my recommendation would be to pay a little more for the extra features.

We bought our cat, Cleo (age 18), both the food and the water dish to replace her old dish. Cleo would only like to eat from the front of the food dish thus making the food not come down making the product almost useless. We had to go down there everyday to pull forward some of the food to make the feeder useable. Eventually we got back her old dish and just put food in both sides so that she could have a constant supply of food (she only eats from a full bowl). However the water dish was a success! At first the sound it made when the water came down from the upright thing scared her. Eventually it did not scare her and now she's so used to it that she keeps on drinking. We still use the waterer. The only thing that's bad about the waterer is that when you fill it in a sink and walk back to put it down you accidently tip it causing more water to come out. Oh well, it's still a great product!

My cat loves his new bowls. I got them because he would spill his food all over my floor then spill his water and cause mold. Now I only have to refill his bowls once a week or so. My only concern is that he is eating to much food.
