My 13 year old cat had diabetes. We have tried prescription food, natural holistic food, organic, grain free, you name it, to try to get his weight from 24 pounds to at least 20 pounds. After my 3 year old was put on prescription RC food for UTI issues, and having the 13 year old steal his food, I decided to try the RC Light. The 13 year old loves it. He is now down to 17.5 pounds, and has transitioned out of diabetes! He runs and plays like he did when he was a kitten! It is wonderful to see him so happy! I would recommend this food to anyone with a cat that loves to eat, but has weight or health issues!
Pros: high quality, digestible, taste

A vet tech recommended this product to me. My kitty Grace weighed 16.5 pounds. The high protein formula keeps her from getting hungry, she loves the food, and her weight is down to 13.5 pounds in just a few months. Most days she doesn't even finish the 1/4 cup that I put out for her.

After extensively researching the questionable things that are added to pet food these days, I found Royal Canin to be the food that lives up to the highest standards - no shady additives, and a genuine concern for the best possible nutrition. Ten years later, my cats still get excited when I feed Royal Canin food to them, and the recent recall incident served to validate my trust in RC products.

My cats loved the taste. They lost weight. And, my senior one started acting young and playful again, almost immediately after swtching to this food.
BTW, the product is actualy called "Light" formula, not "Slim", as it is incorrectly listed on the Petsmart site. Royal Canin changed the name a couple of years ago.
