I got this cage for my male chinchilla when i first got him. The cage was a bit of a pain to put together, so it is a two man job, but it was a decent size for him. He did eat the ramps because he would get bored easily with all his toys. Only reason I got rid of it was because I got another chinchilla and I didn't think it would fit the two of them so i ordered a bigger one for them. Unfortunately my male didn't live long enough to enjoy the new cage, so I wish I still had it so I could downgrade my current chinnys cage to this. I recommed this product

The very first night I had my chinchilla she escaped. Then I went to the hardware store and bought chicken wire fencing with small square holes big enough to put her water bottle through. after a month or so I took them off because it looked like she was big enough. The next day she got out again. I looked in the corner where she got out and the bars were completely bent to where her body fit through. For a metal cage that should be sturdy, its really bad when a little 3 month old chinchilla can bend the bars and escape. DO NOT GET THIS CAGE. I had to waste more money on wire fencing yesterday when she escaped again.

We can't keep our chin from sneaking through the panels. Spacing is way to wide. Also the wheels would not fit into the slots. Not satisfied for the price we paid.

Okay, first of all this cage comes with plastic shelves-big chin no no. I took them out and bought aspen shelves and washers or whatnot to attach it from Menards. That fixed the plastic problem. Assembly- okay this was fairly simple only getting the castors on-that was very difficult. I hate the grate I the bottom it's hard to wipe off. Besides that fairly easy to clean. My chin lives on this now and besides these cons, everything's good. I would only reccomended this cage to someone who's very devoted to their chin and is able to buy wood shelves etc.

DO NOT GET THIS CAGE! Because of the poor craftsmanship it took me 2 hours to assemble! Had to use masking tape to keep the pieces together while i screwed in the bolts. It is crooked so 3 shelves dont fit properly. btw...the shelves and ramps are PLASTIC! Also, the handles on both doors are cattywampus and are difficult for my kids to use. As soon as i find a good cage this one is going back.

Great for the cost

This cage has easy assembly and plenty of room for my two chins to hop around. The ramps weren't really necessary so I took the bottom one out so they could have more room. As far as quality goes, it is only ok. Its assembly directions are not very clear but still easy and all of the pieces seem to fit just right. I have been using it for several months now and it is still in great shape. My chins don't seem very interested in the plastic shelves either so they are bite free. It is easy to move and easy to clean. Overall, I would recommend this cage.

Purchased this cage last night, went home, put it together, and had my chins in it in less than 1 hour. Good set up - the ramps are not necessary for chins - they just jump over it - but overall for this size animal it is great.

I got this for my 3 baby dumbo rats. I had to wrap it in chicken wire because the spacing of the bars was to big. I love how i can just pick up the blanket on the bottom and shake it over the pull out. Putting it together was a little hard. Had to use a hammer. I wish there was one more door on top because its a little hard to put stuff on top.

I have to say putting the cage together was VERY easy. Only flaw about it was the plastic shelfs, but I easily fixed that with fabric. ^^ Chinchilla loves it. Also very big and roomy, great product.

Bought this item in a box for my 2 chinchillas. The instructions to put it together didn't mention 2 parts that must be put together. There was screws missing and the litter pan had a hole in one corner where a leg was against it in the box. The litter pan would not stay in place after assembly and would fall off. I returned it to the store.

We had to return this cage twice. The first because there was 2 faulty pieces and a missing part and the second because the removable pan did not even fit the cage. It was too small so it would not stay connected properly. It was also very confusing to put together and directions did not include how to use all the pieces correctly. The cage was very noisy when my chin would run on her wheel at night as well. I would recommend the critter cage prevue model 495 for the extra cost. MUCH more space and a very sturdy cage!!

Cons: loud, directions not clear, faulty parts, plastic ramps and platforms
