I recently adopted a 14-year-old dog, who appeared to be on her last legs. I originally just hoped to give her a comfortable, safe home for her last few months. She could barely walk, was skinny and frail, her coat was dull and her skin was flaky. My vet recommended a prescription food that was very expensive, and Maddy did improve quite a bit. However, I decided to look at some other labels, and decided to try Wellness. Although not cheap, it is less expensive than the prescription food, and I was impressed with the ingredient list. Maddy has continued to improve, and now has a shiny coat, actually runs and jumps, and is just a much happier and healthier dog. I hope to have her around for years rather than months, and am so happy to see her feeling good. I have a younger dog (7 years old) whose itchy skin has completely cleared up, and she also seems to have more energy. I am truly amazed at what a difference a dog food can make, and I'll continue to buy Wellness.

We started Wellness a long time ago, switched to senior a couple years ago. My collie/shepard is about 12 years old, and gets confused for a puppy because his coat is so nice and he acts young. He grazes on Wellness and never gulps down his food, and never has GI issues unless he gets a treat of something else. He doesn't seem to have any of the musculo-skeletal problems of his breeds yet. I recommend this food to everyone I know. Worth an extra few $$$ for, as he eats less than he did of previous brands.
Pros: high quality, digestible

A year ago I was told by my pup's vet that he would probably need surgery on one of his back knees due to arthritis and the knee cap kept slipping off. He put him on Glucosomine oral supplement and not much changed. My furry guy is a 7 year old Cairn terrier who couldn't jump on the bed because of his knees. Well, I started him on Wellness for Seniors and in about 2 months there was a huge change. I was laying in bed one night and all of a suddened notice that Lucky was next to me! He can now jump up on the bed!! I recently took him in for his yearly check up ad the dr. said that his knee was a 2nd degree versus a 3rd degree sublaxation of the patella. I am convinced that it was the high quality and supplements in the food that made the difference. I think we will be a Wellness advocate for life!! I know that it is expensive but our furry little ones are our kids just like our biological ones. We wouldn't feed them inferior food, so why feed it to our pets!!

My Brittany has a temperamental tummy, and now that he is almost 11 yrs old he is also sensitive to too much sodium in his diet. My vet recommended the Science Diet that he carries as a low-sodium food that will be easy on Danny's kidneys. I was feeding him Nutro, but he was drinking a lot and urinating a lot. I called Wellness to get nutrition info-specifically the sodium content and they were extremely helpful in answering my questions and helping me decide what food and what treats would best suit my dog. Danny just gobbles it up! Other dog foods could sit there and he would nibble all day. He loves it!
Pros: high quality food, can easily switch between recipes for sensitive tu, small bites
Cons: expensive
