I was skeptical at first about putting my pit on this. I was buying Inova and loved it. Too Expensive. This is more affordable and I can get it at the grocery store. No difference in her behavior or her health. Receiving the same results for a better buy. I tried Pedigree and she was allergic. My dog likes it. I love it.

I have tried many a "premium" brand of dog food and my dogs (4) turn up their noses at them. They love this food and in the long run it saves me money if they eat this. Buying expensive food that goes to waste doesn't help me much financially. It is balanced food and contains all the needed ingredients even if "fresh meat" isn't the main ingredient. It smells great (unlike a premium brand I tried that smelled rancid on more than one occassion). If my dogs are healthy and happy, I am happy too. This is a great product. The only dog food I have been buying for over 10 years now.

This food is disgusting. I think this food is WORSE than Gravy Train and that's saying something since Gravy Train is pretty grotesque. I'll often have people recommend Beneful to me, to which I laugh and say "No." The ingredients list is horrible. The commercials brag about being "natural" and "wholesome", but when I bought the food a few years ago... I just did not see it. This is a case of the packaging fooling unsuspecting customers. They have fresh chicken and vegetables on the packaging but what you see isn't always what you get. It's packed with grains and corn, which dogs do not particularly need. It has beef, but it's so low on the list that it doesn't even matter. The dog is still getting more grains than anything. And it has sugar, making this a VERY big no-no for small breeds that are prone to hypoglycemia. It FRIGHTENS me to know some people feed this to their small dogs. And the dyes. That's unnecessary and only there to make it look appealing to us. Dogs do not care what color their food is. I bought this before I knew to read the ingredients list and my dogs would NOT touch it. They ALL snubbed it - all seven of them. Also, it smells horrible.

My yellow lab has been on beneful since she was about 3 months old. She's 12 now. Soft sleek coat (she does shed alot, but what lab doesn't) still has lots of energy, and never been sick a day in her life.

She loves the taste and when we occasionally give her a Beneful Prepared Meal as a little treatt, she devours that along with the dry food.

The only downside I know of is that she will occasionally clear a room with a little gas bomb.

It was recommended by my veterinnarian.

Like the other reviewer said, read the ingredients. This stuff has more salt than it does the carrots and peas pictured on the label. And does your dog need to eat sugar, propylene glycol or added salt?

Unhealthy ingredients = unhealthy dogs. This product is not worth the money you save by not buying a healthier dog food. Read the ingredients! 2 different breeds of dogs were fed this in our extended family, both with significant negative consequences (itchy paws, eye discharge, hair loss, seizures). Dogs may like the taste, but it's not worth it. Petsmart sells much healthier dog food than this!

I had been feeding my dog Max IAMS since he was a pup. At 6 years old he had become very finicky. I gradually switched him over to Beneful at the beginning of 2010. He loves it and anxiously awaits mealtime every day!

Pros: not too costly.

My dog only ate science diet. He grew bored with it and would not eat. I introduced beneful and now he eats without a problem!

This is the perfect food for pups and young dogs (?-3 or 4 yrs.). How many by-products does anything consume? Never pooping would be great, but I would, and my pup, probably would rather keep regular, eh? Hope this helps...........

This food is full of corn, meat & bone meal, by products, etc.. don't even know why it's allowed on the market!!

My dog didn't do too well on this food. Dry, dull coat. Don't approve of this food at all.

Pros: picky eater liked it

Cons: horrible ingredients, gave my dog a dry dull coat
