So Much Potential!

I was very excited to find a stainless steel litter pan.
PROS
- Stainless Steel!: This pan will last indefinitely and will never retain odors if cleaned properly.
- Easy to Clean: I use clumping clay litter and I have noticed that clumps are easier to remove from the pan than a plastic box.
CONS
- The striped pan tends to have smudged paint, which looks awful, meaning that the cleaner-looking (only purely stainless steel with rubber feet) circle-design pan can be hard to find in stores.
- Size: I wish it was larger, but the dimensions are still fairly decent.
- Price: Much more expensive than a plastic litter box of the same size, but the fact that it would not need to be replaced is likely the reasoning for this. I would appreciate a $5 knock-back.
My large, male cat fortunately squats, so I do not have to worry about the lack of height. To deal with flung litter, however, I placed the box within a 25 gallon storage bin. Since there is room on the sides, I have used the extra space to hold odor-absorbing salts and the litter scoop.
I would recommend this product. I love stainless steel for this application, and I hope to see more varieties soon.

Overpriced, no larger option

While it's nice to have a product like this, it is essentially the same thing as a full sized steam table tray that they use for buffets. Although it is standard small cat box dimensions (about 18X15) the surface area of the buffet trays is 21X13 which works out to be about the same at around 270 square inch - my guess is the longer rectangle is not a significant difference.
The thing is the steam table tray costs less and is available at a 6 inch depth, and costs less (about half) than $30 online including shipping.
So it's a good first step, but instead of making the small size and a "designer" option with little circles I say make a larger one, possibly with a slightly smaller gauge metal because that shouldn't matter so much and it'll keep costs down.

FINALLY a stainless steel litter box!!! there is only one problem, my cat goes over the edge of it. she does it standing up. the back and preferably the sides too would need to be 17" high (she stretches). i love the front height of 5" or less because it'll protect her joints. i think cats tend to have joint problems when they get older. ideally it would be 20"L and 16"W too, but i can deal with it as is. even if this revised box was 4x's as expensive, it would be sooo worth it.

Great Litterbox!

There are two main reasons that led me to buy this product. 1) My cat scratched a hole in the bottom of her plastic litterbox. 2) I wanted an eco-friendly litterbox that wasn't made out of plastic and I knew I didn't want disposable either since they'll just sit in landfills.
Because this litterbox is made out of stainless steel it will last me far into the future for any cats I will own as well as serving the cat I have now, making it well worth the money I paid. If the time ever comes that I need to dispose of it, it's recyclable. Using this and a natural cat litter instead of clay-based, I'm doing my part in making sure my cat is healthy and that she isn't hurting the environment either.
I bought the one with the circular design and I love it. It's a very simplistic pattern that adds just a touch of class. This litterbox is large which gives my cat ample room to choose where to do her business and the lip is high enough that she's tracking considerably less litter than she did with either of her two previous plastic ones (one of which had an added lip that did nothing to stop her tracking it). It's also still low enough that it's easy for her to step into and she doesn't mind the new texture of the litterbox. Because her plastic litterbox had scraps coming off of it due to her scratching, I always wondered what bacteria was sitting there and didn't want to touch the box at all. However, this box is easy to clean and I don't feel nearly as grossed out touching it to clean it.
This truly is the best litterbox currently on the market.

Great litter box - but where's the top?

I really like how easy it is to clean this litter box with the scoop. It takes less time than with a plastic litter box. The litter moves very easily on the metal. BUT when the cats paw at the litter, more of the litter gets thrown out of the litter box than with the plastic boxes. I would buy more of these metal litter boxes if they came with a well-fitting top.
