I run a Cat Hotel witch takes in helpless strays; Our newest cat a Russian Blue named "Cricket" loves this we'll keep getting it till the hot dogs come home.

I have 3 cats at home ranging from ages 14 to 2 years old and they all loved this toy/treat!! Being a ball, it was something they could chase around and still get happy, happy, happy from the catnip. I definately recommend this product for cats of any age!!!

cats don't seem to care about it. it is just a hard ball of catnip. no plastic or anything of the sort. i can only assume it will dry out and fall apart eventually.

I give this toy to my antsy cat when he gets bored and starts pacing, meowing and pestering the other cat. When I place it in front of him, he lays down and licks it and plays with it for a good 15 mins straight - It's the equivalent of giving a dog a piece of rawhide! I've had this catnip ball for over a year now and he still loves it. I was afraid that it might fall apart or leave bits of catnip everywhere, but it is well compressed and doesn't make a mess at all. The other cat likes to play with it a little bit, but he's not as big into catnip.

I bought this as a treat for my 2 young cats. I assumed that like with most toys, they would play with it for a few minutes, and then get bored. I have NEVER seen them go this crazy for a toy before. They will spend hours chasing it, holding it, and licking it. This isn't a toy to leave out 24-7. I actually have to take it away when playtime is over, otherwise my kitties would do nothing else except love on their kitty drug.
An added benefit is how active this toy encourages them to be. My one year old tomcat has gotten a little bit chubby; he moves and runs more while playing with his catnip ball than with any other toy.
If you have a lazy cat, or one that needs a little extra incentive to get moving, I especially would recommend it.

Farina is enjoying chasing her Catnip Spin. With the exception of the laser pointer it is the only toy I've purchased that she plays with. It does not, however, eclipse her all time favorite toy, the rings that drop off the tubes when you open a tube of Airborne cool medicine!
Pros: she likes it.
