This is really the best natural litter I have used for my cats. It stays clean and fresh longer, since it clumps so well and you can easily just scoop and discard the clumps, and no nasty dust or residue since it is natural. And since it lasts so much longer, it saves me money too.

I am pet sitting for my sister, who has two cats. When I arrived, the litter box was filled with relatively fresh litter (something made from walnut shells). I scooped it daily, but it smelled really bad, so I changed it to the World's Best Cat Litter a few days after I arrived. I am just AMAZED at its performance. It has great clumping, there is NO dust and the floor around it is not gritty. And best of all, even when the stool is not covered well (or at all), it still doesn't smell! I've sent my sister an email suggesting that she keep buying the WBCL, as it truly is what it claims to be, the world's best.

This is my second try for a natural cat litter. I had no issues with clumping, there was minimal tracking as compared to clay, and the odor was definitely reduced as compared to clay. There is a certain 'cleaner' feeling that accompanies using this product as well. Very satisfied. Not that this is a recommendation, as everyone's pet is different, but she did not need to 'adjust' to the new litter. No blending was needed.

Ugh

July 26, 2012

My cat just had radioactive iodine treatment for hyperthyroidism, and this is the litter that they gave me to use for the next 2 weeks. I've only had him home for less than 6 hours, and I already hate this litter! He hates it, too. He cries when he goes in to use his box and cries for about 20 minutes after he comes out. It sticks in his fur (and he's a short-haired cat), the white on his paws is stained brown, it's sticking between his toes, and it is getting tracked all over my house. This is awful, and I have to deal with it for 2 entire weeks?!?!? Ugh. Can't wait to go back to my regular brand.

I love this cat litter and my cat had no problems adjusting to it. I have asthma and I have no problems when taking care of the litter box. It is much lighter than clay litter so it is easier for me to haul home and its better for the earth. I have had no problems with smell or dust using this litter.

I use World's Best, but since Petsmart started to carry the 7lb bag and are still charging the 8lb bag price, I will buy it elsewhere.
I would really like to find a replacement for World's Best, as it is very dusty and tracks (especially when it's humid, the product seems to break down from it) and it doesn't last nearly as long as they advertise. I end up doing a complete litter replacement about every 8-10 days, not 30 as they estimate on the package.

I have a rabbit who uses a litter box. I had tried a few different litters before, including both chemical and natural ones. I thought I was in love with another all natural litter until I tried Worlds best. My rabbit drinks and incredible amount of water, and so she pees alot too. With this litter I dont smell her waste nearly as quickly and with routine cleaning it will last so long! She also sometimes likes to pick at her litter and i used to worry with the "carbon" litters, now that I use this one, i dont worry about her ingesting chemicals.
Pros: easy to clean, eliminates odor

Best Litter Ever!

I had 3 furkids who were up there in age (youngest was 13+). We had used the typical brands that we thought were "good". Tidy Cat, Fresh Step, Arm&Hammer, all clumping litters. As we learned more about the "bad" effects of the clay dust and such on our furkids health we made the decision to look for a dustless or at least reduced dust litter. We originally tried Feline Pine, and loved it. Then we tried the Arm & Hammer Essentials. While the Essentials is pretty good, we noticed the urine/ammonia smell gets pretty strong and you need to replace the litter at least every 2 weeks completely. We then saw an ad on TV for the World's Best Clumping Cat Litter and decided to give it a try when we received a coupon for it.
Initially we didn't want to cause stress with the kids so we only switched one box to the new litter. The kids had no problem using it and seemed to prefer it. We still keep one box out of 5 with Arm&Hammer Essentials but the rest are WBCL now.
The Feline Pine was great too, however, the kids didn't like stepping on the pellets so the box didn't used as much and solids just laid there with no real cover up even when the kids tried to cover it up.
I have seen others comment on the smell. Indeed there is a smell, but it reminds me of the smell of dried corn husks in the country. I'm currently integrating a rescue adult cat into the house and have him kept in a room by himself currently with a litter box full of WBCL. I even sleep in there with him and never smell urine or poo, just the WBCL and to me it's not that strong. I'd rather smell that than what it is covering up. :-)
Thanks for reading.

Doesnt make your house smell like cat litter

I have used WBCL for 12 yrs. Face it almost all cat litters track, and all cat litters have some dust.
WBCL is no exception, but Im okay with it. Because it doesnt have that cat litter smell.
What I like about WBCL most, is when you walk in the front door, you dont smell "cat litter", which most cat litters do, they leave a cat litter smell throughtout your home. I like that this is flushable, and natural. I clean my cats litter box regularly, and as soon as he does his job, (he usually comes running out and meows at me letting me know what he did), so as far as elimination odor, Id rather smell that for a few minutes, then to come home, or have guests come over and immediately smell that I have a cat because my home reaks of stinky perfumey, cheap cat litter, the minute you walk in the door. I would hate to have that cheap cat litter smell all over my furniture, clothing, and bed.
I would never change cat litter brands, because a few mintues of stink from the cat, is much better than walking out the door, knowing I reak of cat litter.
Note to cat owners - Everyone knows you have a cat before you mention it, when you use the cheap clay litters. Trust me on this. Your house, your clothes, your hair, smells like cat litter.
WBCL customer for life.

Over many (50+) years we've had many animals, large and small. My wife and I have had to endure the chore of keeping pet waste in check. Now that I am retired it is my duty to clean up after the cat (not one of my most favorite things to do). I've tied many different products over the years. This one is the best. It is one of the easiest and most non-invasive on our home that we have found. It clumps well, is practically odorless, and is easy to clean up. My cat likes it too.

Really The Worlds Best

My cat was recently diagnosed with feline asthma and this is the litter my vet suggested we switch to. I'm always a little apprehensive about changing their litter because they didn't always adjust well but with this it was easy. My vet said I should try mixing the litter with the old litter until they got use to the new stuff but I just went ahead and used this alone. My three cats gathered around the box as they usually do, smelt the litter and then it was business as usual. It was the easiest switch i've made and for the better of my cats. It is a bit pricey though and has a different smell but not bad. The odor cover up has been better then the other brand I was using before. There will always be a little odor in a cat box, other expectations are unrealistic. It's easy to clean and when easy to vacuum up. It also seems to be more comfortable on their paws. I am happy I made the change.

Highly recommend product. Clumps well and will flush easily. Use multiple cat bag for households with more than one cat.
NOTE: We discovered rats/mice like this corn base litter. Keep it in a heavy duty plastic container if stored in garage. Since changing from bag to container, we have had no problems.

World's WORST cat litter!!

August 5, 2011
by lioness
fromRio Rancho, NM
This litter did NOTHING for feces oder, although that could be because for some reason my cat would not cover her feces while using this litter. I don't think she liked the feel of it. I clean the catbox everyday and still could not get rid of smell. Threw out rest of litter after less then a week. Don't let the name fool you! If I could give it 0 stars then thats what I would really rate it.

I tried this when I saw it on sale. I had been using Sweetscoop (wheat) and liked it pretty well. Didn't clump as hard as clay but the health benefits to both the planet and my cats were worth it. But I will definitely stick with world's best. Yes, it smells strange when first poured from the bag, but that dissipates. As far as adhering to solid waste - it doesn't so much stick to it as dessicate it, though it does stick if the stool is really soft.
People have reported some strange things, like the ants and the weevils! And I don't understand the wide variation between clumping really well and not clumping at all. Containing odor and not containing odor. I just know it works for my 3 cats. I have 4 litter boxes, 2 with Sweetscoop and 2 with worlds best. The latter gets most of the activity.
The BIG PLUS? It doesn't hurt to step on it barefoot when it has been flung out of the litter box with overzealous digging! Clumping clay litters DO hurt, like walking on pieces of gravel. This stuff is soft underfoot. I haven't found a litter yet that doesn't track to some extent, but this one I don't mind. Of course, I have neither a black cat nor dark colored rug.:)

I swear I've tried every single litter out there. My favorite was Fresh Step but it was way too dusty. My next favorite was Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat but it doesn't clump very well. I do love that it is 99.9 perc dust free and believe me; 99% is very different than 99.9%.
Then someone at a PetSmart store suggested this one. It is very light, I must say. I was used to lugging the Precious Cat litter around and up to my apt. and almost broke my back!
I like it because it doesn't track too much. For tracking, I would rate it between good and medium. Clumping is excellent. Rarely any dust. But my two cats, who always covered up their litter before; refuse to with this litter. It smells real bad uncovered, so I am constantly covering it up for them and I clean their box twice a day. It is not inexpensive. I recently lost my job so I may have to try something else. Maybe back to Fresh Step and I'll just have to deal with the dust.

I have been a cat owner for over 20 years. I now have 3 adult male cats and have tried all the names brands..they all produce dust. This is the only litter that I have found that leaves no dust residue. It is light weight and goes twice as far as any other..I love it. Please don't quit making it. I do wish it had a better odor control though.
