This product is great. I have three chinchillas and one of them weighs more than three pounds. It holds her weight just fine. She even loves to sleep on it. I have two lava ledges in my cage and they've completely chewed through one.

My chinchilla does nothing but chew and jump on top of it all day long I want to add more so it would be lots and lots of fun but she is just so cute when she jumps up and sits there. The only con is that the price is a bit high but that's all.

My chinchillas loved this. They enjoyed chewing on it. When they would hear a noise they would jump on it and look very alert.

My chinchillas love the lava ledge. They could chew on it all day and they love to sit and stare out of the cage. The only thing I don't like is once it gets gnawed down you have to remove it so your critter can't get to the metal screw on the inside.

so lava ledges would be great if they weren't so heavy
to the point the smallest bit of pressure on the ledge makes it bend down...Now i got this for a pet rat and it nearly falls off the side i wouldn't even wanna see how it would hold up to a chin

I have three of these ledges for my two mouse girls. They love running up the cage bars and perching on the ledges. They're easy to use, but my only problem is clean up. My girls love the ledges and spend lots of time on them, so inevitably they leave a lot of feces on the perches. The lava ledges are not easy to clean, but I've found with some scrubbing I can get most of the feces off.

Chinchillas LOVE this product! I recently aquired my two chinchillas(Fidget Chinson and Gidget Chinson) as a graduation gift from my mom and she ordered this for them to sit on(the cage they came with had NO ledges so the poor things just sat on top of their rabbit igloo). They sit on this all the time now and chew on it! It is very durable and the one that came was purple and their cage is puple so that was a GREAT plus!

We got these for our dwarf hamster, Bert. He can climb on them if you put something beneath to climb on first. They were kinda rusty when we got them, the screw part, I mean. But overall, these are great! You can put little treats on them because they are really big!

This product was easy to hook up to the cage and I like that it adds an additional jumping ledge for my chin. She absolutely loves to sleep on it and also uses it to jump to different levels! She also likes to nibble on it from time to time, but saves the serious chewing for her wood toys.

I bought this for my chinchilla, and it is great for him to sit and chew on. He absolutely loves it! It is a definite must-buy for all chinchilla owners. It was also easy to attach to my chinchilla's metal cage. It is a very decent price for the enjoyment my chin receives from the product. He also uses it to jump onto other levels of his cage :)

I love this product! My chins have to take a big jump to go from their first to second floor in their cage. I tried putting ladders but they ignored it and it just fell off all the time. I put this instead and they can now jump safely and they started using it right away! They use it to jump to their next floor, just jump over for fun, stand on top of it, and chew on it. This is also my chin's favorite chewtoy! I love this product and recommend it to everyone!

This is a wonderful idea and my chinchilla loves it but she starts chewing where the screw is. She only gets to use it for a good week until she finally chewed it down to the point where it falls. I just set it in her cage after that for her to chew on but then she refuses to touch it

My Chinchillas and I have had a lava ledge for about a month and a half. It attaches to the cage very sturdily and doesn't bend or anything. Cinnamon sits on it daily (it is his perch) and it doubles as a great chew. It wears down his teeth like any chew toy should and he seems so happy when he gnaws at it. Problem is, he is eating it out from under him (although he doesn't ACTUALLY eat it; there is a little dust mountain under his ledge LOL) so I guess I will have to buy a new one for him.
