Cosmo loves the fillets and shreds. (He will not eat the "pate"). I try to get it to room temperature (the 2nd half of the can from the fridge) before feeding him, but sometimes he won't wait.

The cat that owns me loves this flavor but she sometimes does have difficulty with the larger chunks of meat. I find that if one takes the edge of a spoon and chops the chunks up for her, she'll gratefully finish the bowl. She gets half of a 5.5 oz. can at each meal (breakfast and supper) and appreciates it being gently heated. It takes a little extra effort to serve but she loves it.

Difficult for cat to eat

Until recently, I have fed my kitties this wet food for years. Then the new textures (anything that isn't pate, in fact) seemed to make my boys less than thrilled for supper time.
Bits, shreds and fillet types are hard for my oldest and nearly toothless cat to eat. (He came to my family with the problem, as we adopted him when he was already a senior aged cat, poor baby had had a rough life before we took him in.) The new textures frustrate him, so he just slurps up the gravy and goes off to pout if someone forgets to put down a can of pate texture food for him.

Filets is a decent product, but it could be better....the filet chunks are either too large and/or too hard for a cat to chew. I have seen cats have a difficult time trying to chew the filets. The juices make the product enticing, but the filets themselves make the product less enjoyable for the cat. I have been feeding my own cats and also outside cats (feral) for a long time. If an ouside cat has a difficult time chewing the product, than you have to know there is something that probably could be looked at and possibly tweaked. I do not give this product to my indoor cats because they will not eat it. And that is because they do not enjoy the hardness of the meat.
