While I find that the product is fine, the quality control is slipping. I am finding that more and more packets in the product have tears or cuts in them which have to be sealed before defrosting.

I have a baby Rosy Boa. She was being fed the small fuzzies from the store when i bought her so we continued with them since it was something she was already used to. The mice have all been good sizes and i have not had any problems with guts or foul smell. My rosy loves the mice and has no problem snatching them up. They are a little expensive in the store but when u think about $12 for 3 weeks of food (my snake eats twice a week) thats a whole lot less than what an average human eats on a daily basis. If you love your pets as much as i do sacrificing $12 for 3 weeks isnt bad at all.

these mice are good when they are pinkies but when you get into the bigger sizes they are not to good they are super weak and they tend to bust and smell really bad or they will bleed and make a mess and i have had many that are either bruised or completely crushed would not get these if you are going to feed these to a animal that is really rough with the food like my lizard is.

I just purchased a young corn snake from petsmart, and was extremely happy with the service and price. However, on return to petsmart to buy food for my new snake, I was extremely disappointed. I paid 12$ for a box of six pinkies, which is 2$ per thumbnail sized mouse. Utterly insane! My snake, however, loved them and the mice did seem to be fresh, which saved them from only one star.
I will not be buying mice from petsmart again!!

when i first bought these mice my ball python just tolerated them. I couldn't even keep track of how many times its guts and juices came exploding out of its belly (it also smelt really bad)! About a year ago they came in small affordable quantities and now they are over $40! Also when i was thawing one hopper mouse to feed my ball i followed the directions on the back of the box (bad idea) and it ended up bleeding and exploding afterwards! if you love your reptile don't buy these!!

I've read alot of complaints and I have no idea where you can get a frozen rodent that isn't gross or in a weird position. This is an easy to use product. Soak in hot water and run more hot water over it so its right temp then either wiggle it or hand it to snake. My snake just takes it and starts swallowing, doesn't even constrict. I feed these to my ball pythons.

I've been buying this product for almost a year, and have graduated from the small mice, to the large mice, as my ball python has grown in size. The small mice almost never had any issues, but with each increase in size, the likelihood that one or more of the mice out of the batch being bloodied or wounded greatly increased. This is the third consecutive box of large mice I have purchased where I've had to throw one out. That means I've thrown away $12 in mice due to "manufacturer defect". That's a problem, when one in four boxes ultimately gets pitched. I'll be getting my python's mice elsewhere.

Iv'e had my ball python for two years now and only feed her this brand. Up until recently it has been ok. Now when I buy it all the gut juice is every where in the bag when I warm it up, so is blood. The smell is HORRIBLE, its so bad that my snake won't even eat it. He hasn't eaten in a month and I have to order a different brand because my pet-smart only stocks this brand. I am very disappointed in the recent changes.

I was surprised to read some of these poor reviews for the product. My snake and I have had great success with these mice. He is an 8 month old corn snake (too big now for these pinkies, but not ready for these fuzzies).
The packaging is great. each mouse is individually packaged, and in my experience, have been very fresh when thawed. No juiciness or spilled guts at all. My snake loves them as well and readily accepts the food. I'm thinking some customers are getting mice that unfortunately hadn't been properly maintained (kept frozen at all times) by the store.
I do agree that the price is far too high for the product, but my in-store options are pretty limited and at least I'm happy with it otherwise.

I have a 14" California King Snake and I have never had a problem with these mice with the smell or the guts falling out (although my snake doesn't constrict them to squish the guts out) I have only gotten the Pinkies and the Fuzzies so far though so maybe that is why. It is about $12 for six of them, which to me is a little high for this size but the pinkies were always very plump, fresh, and healthy looking, never tiny ones, all about the same size. The fuzzies are a big step up from the pinkies I have to admit so I went back to pinkies but I am feeding two now instead of one. These are the only option for around here and I don't care for feeding live animals to other live animals. Overall I have never had a problem with them!

I've been buying these for 2-3 year now, and ever since you changed the packing the mice smell, and when they are getting heated the guts comes out of the mice. It really disappoints me. I've even tried buying other brands because its disgusting, but there are no other. Please change the packing, its the most disgusting thing ever since you changed the package. I really used to like these mice.

These mice are some of the poorest quality. First, the box says that they are lab mice, which I detest. Second, the sizes are all wrong. Some of their "pinkies" are teeny, and some are huge, all in the same box. Then the jump from a pinky to a fuzzy is enormous, way too large for a normal snake to move up to in appropriate size. And their so-called "small mice" are, again, so tiny compared to a lot of other, and reputable, feeder breeders.
The price for these mice is also ridiculous.
I'd recommend finding a reputable online place to order feeder mice from. You have to pay for shipping, but I think it's worth it. That, or go to a reptile convention.

I have found and rescued a snake that had seemed to be hit with a shovel, so i took her in, and along with the many things i got for her, i bought her the pinky mice. She enjoyed them (had a little trouble because she is half-paralyzed) but it is the most disgusting thing i have ever seen. When i was little, they had my teacher had these to feed her snakes (i fed the snakes) and they were nowhere near as gross as this. Guts falling out, juices leaking, its gross. 10 years can change fast. :p

Rancid Mice

I bought Arctic Mice from my local Pet Smart in Colorado Springs, CO (not online....maybe the mice would have been fresher online?). I thawed each mouse (one at a time, over a couple of weeks), and each mouse smelled awful. My snake wouldn't eat the first three mice (I decided to throw them away). My snake actually ate the last mouse, and let me just say, it was quite the experience.
My snake constricted the mouse, and its guts exploded from his stomach all over the feeding tank. The smell was awful, my snake smelled awful, and I actually had to wipe him down with a towel several times because he had mouse blood and guts on him. I seriously gagged because I was so disgusted (I almost threw up). Never. Again.

The whole 2 years we have had our ball python we have loved the mice, but since they changed the packaging the mice are disgusting. They come out really smelly(like we gag every time we feed her now) and half the time the guts or whatever leak out. It is the most disguising thing I've ever seen or fed any animal.

I ordered some pinky mice for my young Ball Python a little too late and didn't have anything to feed her. i reluctantly went to pet smart and bought a 4 pack of frozen pinky mice. THEY COST ALMOST 6 DOLLARS! for 4 little mice! I went to go feed them to my python and they were SO SMALL! they were half the size of the pinkies I order. I had to give her 3 just for one meal. She I'm very disappointed in petsmart.

I also bought a 4 pack of frozen mice to hold me over until my supplier had time. I went and got 'adult' mice, and I thought it was perfectly convient to have a nice four pack of adult mice. Well...I get home, open the box and the adult mice were the size of a nickle. Beyond mad I searched for my recipt, but could not find it. My bp will not eat more than one item a day, and the puny mice I got him was a joke. I weighed the mice, 5 g! What gives?! Never ever ever ever buy these. They should at least allow you to look into the box if you are in store and going to buy them.

My snake goes nuts for these and refuses to eat any other type of mice, including live and pre-killed mice, or any other brand of frozen mice. He actually manages to make a revolted face when presented with any other kind of food, which is an impressive feat for a reptile with a brain the size of a grain of sand. I think these mice are a bit expensive, but if your snake is a fussy eater they're definitely worth a try.
