I gave this 4 stars because it had 2 minor issues. One was that the back panel one one side didn't mesh perfectly tight, but it is hidden. The second was that as with any finished particle board products, you tend to have small finish chips on the edge. On the plus side, it was ez-pz to put together and is a good looking, functionable stand.

Assembly Nightmare...
April 7, 2013

First off, this is a beautiful and simple stand. The large storage even hides away the 5-gallon bucket I use when syphoning the gravel. But, and this is a big but, the assembly and hardware used is a disaster. No parts are actually screwed together, but are instead held, some places loosely, by these lock caps. I was okay with them for the most part until I tried to put the top on (the holes weren't drilled right), and when I went to stand it up to better attempt attaching the top, two of the bottom caps broke through the corkboard. Long story short, I reinforced with real screws and she's sturdy now. The only big issue now is that the shelf holes are drilled about an inch off in the middle... I thought it was just upside down, but after taking it apart and rebuilding with no results, I measured and it's off. Alright, I complained an awful lot, but I expected a little better. The bottom line though, is that it's holding my filled 36 gallon (knock on wood), and it looks nice. So when I don't think of the assembly process, I think this is a decent stand (although I only recommend if you're on a budget and have access to real screws and an electric drill). Good luck.

you would think an aquarium stand would be a little water proof, at least a durable top. its all partical boar so the glue will smell for a few days and while filling top of stand got some drops of water on it and started to bubble within minutes and you have to pay attention putting together I just hope its sturdy enough for the future

If you are considering this stand... Go for it! Took me between and hour and a half to two hours to put together. As long as you read the instructions carefully and take your time you shouldn't have any problems. Was pleased to see that their were two selves inside the stand, that wasn't mentioned in the description. Very sturdy and fits my 36 gallon bow front perfectly!

The stand was scratched and dented in multiple places. It was difficult to put together, but if it was easy, I may have questioned it's stability. It is a very sturdy stand, but I was very diappointed at how banged up, scratched and dented it was.

I was real excited to get a stand made for the 36 gallon bow front tank I purchased. I started to assemble and found it fairly easy until I got to putting the top on and also hanging doors. I still cannot get doors to fit properly. Now I have a stand I can't use and an aquarium I can't set up.

I have this stand for my 36 gallon bowfront and it fits perfectly. Seems pretty durable and sturdy to support the weight of an aquarium. My one complaint was about the smell after I put it together and set it up. For about a week, I had to keep my windows open and fan going because of the "woody" particle board smell that came from this stand. Eventually it dissipated, but for a week or so it was pretty strong and annoying. Luckily it went away and now the stand is perfect for my aquarium.

Surprised and very disappointed to find how poor the surface finish is in this otherwise sturdy and well-designed stand. Along edges/seams of very thin plastic laminate, the wood substrate is swelling where exposed to just a little water while filling tank.

It is a very high quality stand. It took about an hour and a half to set up, and we had to anchor it into the wall, but it is really pretty. It holds my 36 gallon perfectly. I only wish it had more storage, but it is beautiful.
Pros: sturdy, easy to clean

It took me about an hour to assemble it. It wasn't really hard to assemble it just takes patients and time. It has a really great modern look to it. The only small problem with it is that it leans forward (on carpet). A small piece of card board under the front of it fixed the problem though. Overall, it is great.
By the way, i have a Aqueon 36 gallon tank on it, which fits perfectly.
Pros: easy to install, easy to clean

I purchased this stand for my 36 gallon tank. It fits on it perfectly and I haven't had any issues with it being wobbly(I have tile floors not carpet, although I don't see it being a problem with carpet). My favorite thing about it is the storage space. I have plenty of room to store my fish food, stress coat, filter cartridge refills. You could fit bigger things if you wanted to take one of the shelves out. But I prefer to keep things like my vaccuum, net and algae scraper outside with my buckets.
