Excellent food for dogs with allergies

I purchased this for my Olde English Bulldogge who had terrible acne and skin issues. After being on this foor for a month his skin is clear and he has had no rashes or other issues. Before he was on this food he always had a terrible odor, and we had to bathe him frequently. Since he has been on this food his odor has disappeared and his coat is extremely shiny. I highly reccomend this food for anyone that has a dog with allergies.

Love the Proplan Sensitive stomach and skin food!! We adopted a rescue Husky recently and she loves any food, but it didn't love her. She had BAD gas, runny stool, and she was itching and biting herself (no fleas). We tried the food our boxer/shepherd mix was on, tried Proplan Focus, she still had the gas and runny stool and itchiness. Researched the "expensive" brands and was amazed how $$ some of them were!! Saw the Sensitive formula and figured give it a try. She LOVES it and the gas has went away and she has firm stool from the first time she ate it. I heard Huskys can have food sensitivitys and you have to make sure they have a food without a lot of junk in it, and this food really agrees with her. Thank you Proplan and don't stop making this formula!!!!!

Excellent product! Our dog was prone to skin problems and diarrhea so our vet recommended this product. After a couple days of being on this her stool became regular and within a couple months her skin cleared up and her coat looks amazing. I was also adding in omega 3 fatty acids which I no longer need. Will definitely continue to buy and use this product!

My pit bull mix does great on this food and likes it. After trying various premium brand foods I wound up back with ProPlan. Our previous dog did very well on it for most of her seventeen years and it has been recommended by three different vets over the years with our current vet recommending the sensitive skin and stomach product. In my opinion products like Blue and Wellness are quality foods but in the long run are much more expensive and I saw no difference in her health. I actually saw an improvement in consistancy and firmness in my dogs stool on this product that I didn't see when I fed her the others. I know some will disagree and if it makes them feel better spending more for so called premium foods have at it, been there done that.

My dog has severe food and environmental allergies; AEB: he requires weekly prescription baths in addition to solely being permitted to eat fish, fruit, and vegetables. For over 2 years, I have tried many different brands because of allergic reactions. My prior picks were limited ingredient diets until I became concerned with nutrition. From my observations, the only successful brands that met my nutritional guidelines and prevented allergic reactions for my dog included: Wellness Core and Purina ProPlan for Sensitive Stomachs (Select).

Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin And Stomach has done wonders for my English Bulldog. We got her when she was about two years old and she was not very well taken care of. She was somewhat malnourished and her skin and coat was in bad shape. Took her to vet, who treated her for yeast and fungal infections and also ear mites. Recommended shampoo for her skin and coat which helped some, but poor baby still itched and seemed to be scratching all the time. She even whimpered in her sleep. Decided to take her to a different vet who came highly recommended. Of course, we were given the same diagnosis and the same treatments, but this vet also said that Purina Pro Plan was a very good food, but didn't recommend a specific blend. My daughter and I found the Sensitive Skin and Stomach and decided to try it. Needless to say, in just a couple of weeks, Riley was feeling much better and she rarely scratches now. Been on this food for over a year now and she is doing great. Thanks Purina!!!

Cured our puppy's skin issues!!

Our 1 1/2 year old golden retriever has had skin issues since he was a baby, starting with what our vet called "puppy pyoderma" (little pimple-like lesions all over his belly) and then progressing to scab-like spots that resembled bug bites as he got older. We assumed it was from the heat (we live in the deep south) or he was getting bit by something. Our vet gave us a round of antibiotics and steroids, but he continued to itch and have the spots. We then stopped using certain cleaning products, thinking he was allergic to those after the vet suggested trying that. My husband did some online research after nothing seemed to work, and we decided to try this type of pro plan (we were using the large breed pro plan bag before this). After about two weeks on the new food, our Doc has no more spots on his belly!! They are completely cleared! He's had no problem digesting the new food either. Definitely recommend this for dogs who have had skin issues and nothing is seeming to work. Wished we would've switched sooner!

First time rescue dog owner so asked a friend who has many pets what was the best...my girl is so healthy you can see it down to her skin, her hair shines so great a difference since coming to my heart a little over a year ago....she gets the Lamb/Rice.....great!!!

My dog is part border collie/part retreiver and he is a shedder! He does not have a sensitive stomach or sensitve skin; HOWEVER, I keep him on this food because it helps tremendously with his shedding!! And the price is very reasonable :)

Our retired racing greyhound had digestive issues a few weeks after we adopted him. We were feeding him a chicken and rice dry food that the kennel recommended but I guess it did not agree with him. After some trips to the vet, it was suggested that we try Pro Plan Sensitive dry food. His digestive problems went away and he has been great ever since we made the switch! He also has more energy and his coat is shinier. He loves the salmon taste too. Greyhound approved!

Hands down, this is the absolute best food I've found for my sensitive golden. He has always been excessively itchy and prone to hot spots--but after putting him on the PP SSS a year ago, the itching has pretty much ceased as well as the hot spots. He also loves the taste. Thank you for making a food my dog not only tolerates, but thrives on--at a price that I find affordable!

My 3 yr. old labradoodle has had stomach problems since he was a baby. He had constant diahreaa. Then he wouldn't eat because he wasn't feeling good. I was always at the vet!!! They thought he may be allergic to chicken. I tried all kinds of different foods. They didn't help. I googled sensitive stomach and this came up. I read the reviews and decided to go for it. Within a week he had no diahreaa. He has been eating it ever since. Thank goodness for this food. It has saved me alot of money in vet bills!!!

Great for my extremely sensitive dog

As the owner of a pitbull with grass allergies, constantly ithcy skin and a very sensitive stomach it was very important to find a food that wouldn't upset her stomach and wouldn't break my wallet (pitbulls do eat like horses). I was pleasantly suprised when we tried this food after several more expensive brands had upset her stomach (or the gas they gave her upset mine!), not only did this food minimize any gas it didn't upset her stomach at all! After continued use i have noticed a real difference in not only her stomach function (she has consistent stomach functions, very rarely vomits or has gas, and loves her food) but also noticed that her coat has greatly improved and she is far less itchy! It's now been 4 years since we started her on this food and i can honestly say it did more for my sensitive dog than i ever dared to hope!

I have a 3 year old Cocker Spaniel. When he was a puppy, he was constantly throwing up and had severe diarrhea. Once he turned 1, I decided to try this pro plan food. I have been feeding him this for over 2 years, and he has not had any more issues. I am extremely thankful!
