I have a 9 month old black lab. She would demolish the largest rawhide bone in an hour. This large compressed bone fulfills her need to chew and lasts for days and sometimes a week. We give it to her when we are going to be gone for more than an hour and then take it away when we are home. It gives her a treat when she's home alone and keeps her entertained so she doesn't have to look around the house for something to chew on. Makes everyone happy!
Pros: durable, dog loves it

I have a 75 lb Rottweiler/Chow mix. I've been buying her compressed rawhides ever since I heard about them. She can devour normal rawhides pretty quickly. They keep her busy and keep her from getting into other things that she shouldn't be getting into. :) Dentley's also makes a peanut butter flavor compressed rawhide which is my dog's FAVORITE! Though I can't always find it in the store. But when it's there, I get it!

My 1 year old, 18 pound pug LOVES to chew. She can destroy nylabones, Texas T-bones, and rope bones with hard plastic ends in less than a week. She starts pulling the plastic off and then the toys has to be thrown away. I buy chewy toys for strong chewers, but they are no match for her strong jaws.
A few weeks ago, I was at a Petsmart in Lansing, MI, and the employee there suggested a Dentley's Compresssed rawhide bone. What was even better, it is peanut butter flavored!
She has been chewing this bone for almost 2 weeks and is just now getting it to fall apart. There is a lot more for her to chew on still. I will be buying more, maybe even a bigger size. My pug loves it, I love it. It was almost the same price as the toys I end up throwing away, but I don't mind because this is made to be destroyed, ate, and enjoyed. I would rather spend $7 on a bone that is edible and enjoyed than to spend $5 on something that is destroyed in a matter of days and is not safe for her to digest.

I have a 9 month-old, 100-pound Saint Dane puppy. Forget chewing, this dog swallows EVERYTHING. So I haven't been able to give him anything to chew on, with fear he would break it off into large chunks and attempt to swallow it. (That's how he rolls.) I read somewhere that compressed rawhide was best for dogs like him, but never found a compressed treat that I felt comfortable giving him... Until now! I saw Dentley's large-sized compressed bone at PetSmart and it looked like it might actually stand a chance with him. He's been chewing on it, nonstop, for about an hour now, so I took a picture to show you how it's holding up. I've monitored him, and the small pieces he IS able to break off are all very saturated and soft, so it wouldn't concern me if he swallowed them. (Unlike regular rawhide, which he can break up into large chunks and attempt to swallow, this is SO much more safe!) Anyway, I'd recommend this to anyone with a giant chewer/swallower like mine - In fact, already did recommend it to some of my friends with gentle giants. :-)

I love my year old Dobie like she is my child! I used to give her traditional rawhide, but when my vet's assistant shared the possible problems with regular rawhide to my attention I immediately started looking for alternatives! These Dentley's compressed rawhides are fabulous! Sadie went through a large regular rawhide within an hour or 2... Now she chews on the same bone for days! Now I've got a German as well, and they both love these bones! I buy them at least 2 at a time because they're such a hit!

I like compressed rawhide for my dog, yet it falls apart so easily, which leads to a bone that doesn't last too long- great size though for my 5 month old 57 pound puppy and she likes the taste, so well worth the purchase ;) I just wish the layers didn't fall apart so quickly and easily

My 10 month old, 65 pound lab mix loves these pressed bones, and i love the fact that i know i'm giving her a safe product. This bone is especially great when we are eating our dinner..it keeps her pretty well distracted. It lasts a long time, sometimes up to 3 hours or longer if we take it away from her.
I do wish they came in other flavors. Great product.
Pros: safe long lasting
Cons: only one flavor
