I have a 1year-old cat. My vet recomended me to buy these and I was doubtful. I finally bought them, and before applying them I checked if they fit, and the did perfectly. There was no problem while applying them. But, after applying them, my cat got weird. He stayed still in a corner, didn't moved, and he started walking funny. 10 minutes after applying the caps, he bit off 3 caps from his rear paws. I tried to check his paws, there was nothing wrong in them, but my cat wouldn't move. He would no longer jump to the bed, or the couch, he would just stay still lying down. I could tell he was depressed and misserable.

I had my cat declawed, and I hated it. My fiance has a cat, and he is not declawed. It caused a lot of issues as he tore up the walls, furniture, and us. I found these at petsmart, and took the cat and this product to my vet. They put them on him in a matter of minutes. He didn't fuss, and seemed to not be in pain. One fell of that day, and another fell off a week later. I think they just weren't put on as well. All the others are staying strong. Best of all, my furniture is no longer being destroyed.

I just put these on our new kitten, who should be named "Jackal & Hyde" since one minute she's purring and the next you're getting clawed in the face (even though I know she's just playing) it isn't good when you have a 4 year old. Anyway I did some research and declawing was NOT an option. After going to petsmart I just so happened to find this lovely product. Of course Ella was NOT happy when I put these on (I was smart and swaddled her in a blanket so she could take her "frustration" out on it instead of my arms) and after they were on............ she was back to purring! She doesn't seem to even notice that they're on and I'm happy that my child is safe from getting scratched when Ella decides she wants to play.

My kitty cat is a huge cuddler and loves to lay on my chest but would also kneed my chest with her claws when happy. I didn't want to have to declaw her. I don't think it's humane. (For humans, it's like surgically removing your fingers to the 2nd knuckle!!) I got these kitty caps and they work great. No more tore up skin. Plus, being a manicurist myself, I love how cute my kitty's claws are. This is a great solution for scratching concerns.

We got our little 7 week old kitten, Navi, a few days ago. Our first night with her we realized she stuck her claws in everything-the couch, the floor, the bed, blankets, and even our skin! We didn't know what we were going to do because she is crazy! So we went to Petsmart and got some XS bright pink caps. We got home and waited for her to tire herself out. Hours later, we finally were able to put the nail caps on her. Since her nails are really tiny, we didn't even cut them to fit the caps. She wasn't super happy about us pulling on her paws but after I held her in my arms for 5 minutes after we applied the nails, I let her go and she acted like nothing happened. I did see her lick her paws a couple times, but I they are still on today! They actually look super cute too! It looks like she got a bright pink manicure :) Now whenever she digs her claws out, it just feels like she is tickling you. It doesn't seem to affect her abilities either. She still can climb the couch and our bed. I 100% recommend these!

we put these on our 1yr old kitten, she fought us at 1st when we were putting them on but after a little while she knew we weren't hurting her and she sits there now if one falls off. she has never walked weird or thought much about them being on. this is a wonderful product. If you are not using this product or having problems with your cat using them they may not be right for you or your cat. Maybe using them on your cat at an early age would help. but also we have been cutting our kittens claws from a young age. also this product is a reasonable price but could offer a larger variety of colors at the store (pink maybe) we used the small and will probably always will b/c she is the runt. I also might add that if this product was available or I knew about this earlier I would not have declawed my other cats.

The sizing info is in small letters at the bottom on the front of the box, with a weight to size guide on the back or side. The size was true to the weight recommendation.
My cats were initially not too pleased about the Kitty Caps, but after a day they acted like they didn't notice anymore. They quickly adjusted their climbing and jumping habits to compensate. We only cap their front claws. We will switch from clear to colored soon so we can easily see if a cap has fallen off and needs replacing.
More humane than a surgical declaw, much less stress than weekly nail clippings.

These are so cute! I decided to get the pack that has pink and purple in the packaging since I have a girl kitten. The sizing is pretty simple with xs, s, m, and large. They may have xl, I'm not sure. But if you're not sure on the sizing, just ask one of the groomers there at the store. If they're not sure, ask your vet. I knew that I would need help getting these caps put on so I paid my vet the "trimming fee" so she and her assistant could do it for me. It was only ten dollars and if they are put on correctly they will last several weeks. If you want these on your pet but you are still apprehensive about which ones to buy, your vet may have some in their office they could sell you.
Regardless, I highly recommend these to everyone! My vet said she put them on all of her dogs and a few of them had them off in a few minutes but the majority of them enjoyed having them on.
Like I said in the subject line, if you have a boy pet, use the black ones or the clear ones, and if you have a girl you can use any of the colors. I bet you could buy the clear ones and paint fingernail polish on them before you apply them and then you can have any color your heart desires.

My cat had a problem scratching the curtains and climbing up them. We tried everything. We tried a squirt bottle, putting her in time out, and using deterrent sprays. Nothing seemed to work. Then one day I came across a product called Kitten Caps in PetSmart. They are little silicon nail covers that you glue on your cats nails. THEY WORKED AWESOME! I was scared my cat would bite them off and swallow them but she didnt. She chewed at them for a few minutes after I put them on but she wasent able to tear them off and eventually just gave up and went about her business. After putting the caps on her she tried scratching the curtains but she couldnt get a grip on them with the kitten caps so she eventually just left them alone. But she still scratched her scratching posts. The caps eventually fell off by themselves as her nails grew but she hadnt scratched the curtains for the whole one and a half-two weeks the caps were on so she has totally left them alone. Ever since I put the caps on her she has not scratched the curtains. Im sure they would work just as well for furniture scratching. I completely recommend them for any cat parents whose babies are having scratching problems! And the colored ones look cute on female cats. Everyone thought she had nail polish on lol

I got these because my cat was obsessively scratching at the acne on her chin to where it would bleed. It was a two person job to get these on my cat (we just put them on her back feet) and after we did the cat was visibly distressed with them on her feet. I might have gotten too large of size but to my knowledge there is no sizing info on the package. I decided to leave them on for a few days to see if she's gets use to them but after a day it doesn't look like it so now I have to figure out how to remove them.

Well I love how they last a while and I don't have to worry about my furniture and it looks like my cat Athena's nails are painted :) One problem is that she hates them on her and it is a hassle to get them on her but once they are on it's worth it

I love these! No more kids with cat scratches and no worries or stress about furniture. I just wish I had a female cat as the girl-colors are so cute! I have not found that my cats keep them on an entire month . . .but they are soooo easy to put on and the pack comes with extras. I just check my cats' feet each morning and glue-on as needed. Works wonderful! I highly recommend these for indoor cats!

I had to give it three stars because my cat have claws and when I saw this product.... I was like purrfect!!! They are really easy to put on which is a bonus but the reason why 3 stars is because my cat would bite them off so they only last for 2 days!!!
I bought them cause my mom got this product for her cat which works awesome cause she won't bite them off so they will last for weeks!!!
So.. do I recommend this product? Well yes I do only if your cat wont bite them off.
So to prevent my cat to stop scratching the furniture I bought a cat scratch-post! Works great. And he also likes to use his claws when he plays so I just tell him no and gently slap his paw.... and he's getting better at knowing not to use those evil things!
I hope my statement helps you!!!

After reupholstering my furniture, our cat's clawing was really an issue. We tried these as a last resort, before getting her declawed.
We chose the clear tips and found them to be very easy to attach the first time we used them. The tips have a soft, rubbery feel. The inside of each "cone" is hollow, which can be filled with the glue and then placed onto the claws. The first time took about 10 minutes. The cat did not seem to mind, as she enjoys being held. Afterwards, she looked at her paws for about half an hour, and could not seem to understand why she could not get a good grip to claw the furniture fabric. However, she seemed to get used to them quickly, and does not seem to be botherd in the least.
We have found that the tip placement goes faster, if the tips are laid out ahead of time and the glue is uncapped and ready for use. We've gotten so proficient at using the tips, so it is done easily, and quickly. For us, the tips last about 8 weeks, before needing to be replaced.
We have been so pleased with this product and are very glad that declawing does not have to be an option. We will use this product for the life span of our cat.

I think this method maybe effective for the most part but I don't see how it can work in the long run. I felt bad to see my kitty licking claws and looking uneasy. She was not reacting as terrible as I had imagined after the application...but I decided not do this again. I personally don't like acrylic nails on my nails. So I can imagine just how uncomfortable she must be having these caps on. I decided to buy a furniture cover (selected the fabric my cat wouldn't go crazy) instead. I should've thought about that option before buying this product.
Besides I don't really have time applying these caps every month.

These are a good option for those who do not want to get their cats declawed. They work, but don't always stay on that long. Usually some will stay on for a few weeks, but there are always some that fall off. I started using these when my cats were kittens, so they don't mind them too much, but I wouldn't say they enjoy having them put on.

I have a two year old cat, Rambo, that loves to scratch everything. The latest was our new area rug in our living room. We would wake up to little pieces of carpet around my husband's lounger. We tried everything from scratching pads, posts and sprays. We were at our wits end. Declawing was not an option. Saw these kitty caps in a magazine and ran to Petsmart. Thought he would walk around shaking his paws. Totally wrong! Tried one, he didn't even know it was there, tried two, ditto. Did all of the claws. We no longer have any damage and he has no clue they are on. Just have to reapply the caps when they fall off. The person or person who invented this should be sainted!

These claw caps work well. Use one person to help hold the cat and the other to glue the caps on the claws. Make sure and trim the claws appropriately before applying. Also make sure to remove periodically so claws do not grow weird. Cat will try to chew off so make sure dry before letting cat loose.

my cat took to these very quickly though on some 'fingers' she still balks when we put them on, she doesn't seem to notice she's wearing them and she can still have fun going through her scratching motions without ripping up the furniture, the glue holds well but i wish it would dry a little faster, the cap comes off still glued to the nail sheath when it's time to be naturally shed so a package lasts a few months
