I use this for my kitties box in the garage. Even though I clean it frequently, it would stick to the bottom. I have broken numerous scoopers. When I seen this one at Petsmart I grabbed it. It works great, takes less effort to get the box clean.

The Best Litter Scoop in the WORLD!

I seriously love this scoop, I hesitated because of the price but it actually saves me money because it keeps the litter cleaner. Pair this scoop with the Whisker City high back litter pan and you won't dread scooping the cat box again. The scoop is perfect with the pan, the pan has a curved bottom and straight sides so there is no place for the soiled litter to get trapped, so it doesn't break up and get nasty. The scoops corners are slightly rounded so it will not scratch the litter box which cuts down on places for germs and bacteria to hide. I had about 20 other cat boxes and and equal number of scoops, they all went to the trash bin.

By the way, I foster and have 14 kittens right now, that's a lot of scooping!

This worked great for months--head and shoulders over anything I've used in the last 30 years. However, one day, after smacking it on the side of the litter box to clean it, as usual, it broke in half. Smack down the middle.

This litter scoop is absolutely the BEST. As a rescuer, I have 4 giant litterboxes that have to be cleaned multiple times each day. I can get all 4 litter boxes done in less than 15 minutes with this scoop. It used to take me at least twice that long when I was using plastic ones. I have tried just about everything out there, but nothing else even come close to the job this one does. The difference is in its sturdy construction that allows you to scrape around the edges of the litter box quickly and thoroughly, as well as the fact that wet, gummy litter does not stick to the metal surface like it does with plastic. Thank you PetSmart for offering this great product. I believe every cat owner out there would do a better job of keeping their litter boxes cleaner if they had one of these!

I am very pleased with the durability of this product, it holds up nice and the handle id comfortable in my hand. Also it comes in many fun colours so kids will find it appealing.

I had to go to 3 different Petsmart stores to get my hands on one of these, but it was worth it. I wanted something stronger to replace my plastic scoops as my cats tend to urinate right along the inside edges of the litter box, and I have to scrape pretty hard to get it out, so I thought this metal scoop might make this easier -- it does. Additionally, the slots are great for filtering out the "unclumped" portion of litter that gets scooped up - it slides effortlessly right back in to the litter box, while with my plastic scoops I had to "force" the loose litter back out by vigorously shaking the scoop. Also the larger size of the scoop saves time because I can usually get all the 'refuse' collected in only one or 2 'scoops.'

this litter scoop is a dream. metal so it stands up to a heavy dose of litter in my cats' jumbo 11 inch high litter box. and is easy to clean off when stuff sticks because the metal is smooth. i had a plastic litter scoop that had bumps on the bottom, likely to help "rake" the litter afterward but it was hard to get sticky wet stuff out of it. no problem with this one. if you want one litter scoop, this is the one you want. [or the bamboo two in 1 one, it's amazing too)

Heavy duty but design could be better

This is the only metal litter scoop Petsmart has. Since it's really impossible to do a proper job with a plastic one, I gave this 4 stars. I do have a couple gripes. First, the holes are too large. Small pieces go right through it, and I end up having to painstakingly use the corner of the scoop to pick up the smaller pieces, in the tiny area where there are no holes. This is such an obvious design flaw that it makes me wonder if anyone tested this thing before putting it on the market. Also, it does not get into corners well. This seems obvious to me too. But...if this is the only metal one, then it's better than the other scoops at Petsmart.

Pros: heavy duty, large, only metal one petsmart has

Love this Scoop!

I can't believe how great this metal scoop is. The sides are much higher than the previous plastic scoops I've been using for years, and my natural corn litter doesn't stick to the metal like it did with my plastic scoops. Also, because of the nice high sides I can really sift the litter through it well before pouring the urine balls and feces into a paper sack, so I'm now wasting less letter. With the plastic scoops with the lower sides, I could never sift the stuff well enough without starting to break up the urine balls, or having some of the stuff going over the sides. I thought it was rather expensive for a litter scoop, but after my first use, I was convinced it was great. Now I want a second one for my other litter box.

Pros: saves litter, urine balls don't stick, comfortable handle

Cons: none that i can see

This is the sturdiest scoop I've found, and I need sturdy because I have six cats and foster kittens galore. It far outlasts those flimsy plastic scoops, is well made and more than worth the extra money.
