As another reviewer mentioned at the end of his/her review, these "would do well in fiddler crab tanks". I have a few red clawed crabs, which have a very similar habitat to fiddler crabs, and these were great! They look wonderful in the tank. Like they said, they are NOT an aquatic plant, but they look wonderful and my 4 crabs love them. This is a great plant because it like to be partially submerged, but not all the way, so if you have some shallow water or half land half water, this is a must have! My plant has been alive and well for several months now and hasn't had any problems.
Pros: durable, stylish, price

I bought Mondo grass as an impulse purchase, mostly because it's cheap and has a distinctive look to it. But it does not thrive under water. If completely submerged, it will die and mess up your tank in a few weeks. If you're looking for a grass-type plant for an aquarium, look up Dwarf Hair Grass or Micro Swords. Note that both are fairly demanding plants when it comes to light.
That said, if you have a tank with fiddler crabs or fire-bellied toads with low water levels, then Mondo Grass might very well work for you. It does best when emersed (rather than submerged) in water and makes an interesting and cheap addition to your tank. Just don't stick it in your community tank.

This plant is being sold as an aquatic plant.. it is not. If you submerge it under water for more than a few months it will rot and pollute your tank. Very disappointing, as I bought this and had to find out the hard way. Do a simple google search before you buy new plants from the petstore - so many of these stores are mislabeling their plants. Being new to planted tanks I bought three plants that were specifically labeled aquatic but weren't, this was one of them.
Pros: stylish
Cons: flimsy

got this plant about 2 months ago. it did well and fish loved it!
1 month ago it turned brown and some leaves fell off... a few leaves are still growing but the plant just doesn't look healthy anymore. not for aquariums!
