Purchase a live plant. Little more money. Most bulbs don't grow. If you have three maybe one will grow.

Which, I did not at first. I went by the package instructions and buried a few bulbs 3/4 way under my gravel and waited at least a month and only my onion sprouted. I resolved to dig up the other bulbs, and they were rotten. Finally I looked up how to grow plants from bulbs and wow, this package is wrong. Instead of partially burying them, I let them soak in my aquarium on top of the gravel. At this point, I only had three left and two were duds (one wouldn't sink and the other just rotted), but I let the one sprout and grow roots, then I moved it where I wanted it and stuck the roots in the gravel, and this plant (apongeton) has grown like crazy! I'm so happy with it now. Keep in mind, my tank is set up for plant growth, so I am not sure how these bulbs would do in other situations. Although I am unhappy with the package instructions, and I had some duds, the price is really great and I think I'll give another package a go and try to grow some water lilies.

I bought a couple of packages of bulb plants and I really enjoyed them. Out of 14 bulbs I got 8 that grew (4 Aponogeton and 4 Onion, though one of the Onions has since lost its momentum). My recommendation is to give them an incubating period before putting them in the tank. Wrap them in a damp paper towel, put it in a plastic bag (don't zip it up) and leave it in a warm place for a week. I put mine on top of a cable box, for instance. After that point, you'll have an idea which ones will grow and which ones will foul up your tank. Rule of thumb is if the bulb is squishy, it's dead.

I purchased four pond water lilies, two sprouted and two did not. When I retrieved the two which did not,I discovered the bulb holders were empty.I live quite some distance from Petsmart and did not keep the original package.I would advise opening the package at the store to make sure there is a prize inside.

I bought these and started their sprouting separated from my tank. After 2 weeks I began to see improvement, but not any real sprouting until I placed them in with my fish. The Lily plant is struggling, a couple of the other small plants did not ever get further than tiny sprouts and had to be tossed out, the Amazon sword is doing well, but the Water Onion is thriving. It's only been two weeks since I transferred the plants and the water onion shoots are over 6 inches tall now.

I am torn on this purchase. Half my bulbs grew, but those were not what was listed on the package.
I bought the one with 1 Waterlily, 1 Onion, and 2 Aponogeton bulbs.
However, none of those sprouted. What did sprout was two Amazon Swords and two I haven't yet identified (I came to the site actually trying to figure out just what I bought!).
Anyhow, the two Amazon Swords are doing pretty well after 30 days and my two mystery bulbs that sprouted are struggling. As for the bulbs that didn't sprout, I am going to mail them in for the exchange (or I might see if I can return them to the store).
I am happy with the Amazon Swords, but I was really looking forward to the Waterlily and Aponogeton.
I would buy this again, and am happy that they have a 30day guarantee (just wish I got what I paid for).

I've purchased two sets of this product, just sprouting now. As advertised all bulbs began to sprout within 30 days. My favorite is the lily. I was getting slow but steady growth until I started adding Aqueon Aquarium Plant Food.
I then saw two inch daily stem growth on my lily leafs.
