I have a betta named Bobby and he goes in it to sleep at night. It's a great hiding spot for him and it's also cool to have in a tank!
The only thing that is annoying is that it easily moves around the tank (if you have a filter). I had to put it above a decoration for it to stay. Other than the it's perfect!

I have 2 female and 1 male betta in my 60 gal tank...I put the log in there about 2 hours ago with some bloodworms to lure them into it. One of the females immediately swam into it and since then she and the male have been taking turns hanging out in it. Def. a worthwhile purchase!

I really liked this in the beginning. Then after awhile the paint started coming off. Now its like brown, and blue. It still serves its purpose though. My betta loves it so that is a plus.

My betta loves then Betta Log more then his hammock! I trained him for 10 mins or so, and now he knows how to go in and out, rest, and he even swims/play around it. Plus that feeding hole made it a lot easier to train them. Now he knows where to go to get food. And if he's hungry, he swims in there and poke his head near the hole.
But from what I heard from other users and my betta forums, that the paints tend to chip off after a while in the water. I did notice some paint coming off after I unwrapped it, but after cleaning it, it looks good! Hopefully mines doesn't chip off.
Overall: Excellent product and uses! Need a bit better material/paint. A bit pricey but its worth it IMO.
Get one for your betta! Make sure you clean it thoroughly and inspect it before putting it in the tank! And check it monthly!

This log has been great for my tank. It moves around alot, but that can easily be fixed, if you put it between two plants. My betta, FireWork, loves this, and is always swimming though it, sleeping in it, or just sitting in it. Where ever i place it in my 10 gallon aquarium, the betta adopts as, "his territory" and the 4 balloon belly mollies stay away. Just recently, i got a Fire Belly Toad, and she will sit on top of the log, to relax out of the water, (she has three different spots to get out), and FireWork will sit on the bottom, they look really funny because it is like an apartment, perfect for my pets. Thank you ZOO MED for another great product.

Our Betta loves his floating log. It didn't take any time at all for him to explore it and start using it. He sleeps in there and uses it to build a bubble nest. It floats well and stays in one location. We think the log helps to keep him happy and entertained.

My betta fish Pasqual absolutely LOVES his floating log! I bought it when I had his first tank, a one gallon. He loves to relax and sleep in there, and also hide. I recently purchased a newer and bigger tank with a filter, and I need to figure out a way to rig the log so it doesn't float about too much. Presently when I put it in the tank it crashes against the sides too hard and I worry that my little guy will get smashed :( I can't wait to figure something out though because my fish absolutely loves his! I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a Betta or other small fish.

All my bettas have spent most of their time at the top of the tank, despite the decorations and hidey-holes on the gravel bed. My poor Orpheus spent most of his time in the corner of the 6 gallon tank in the shade. Once I put the Betta log in, what can I say! I've never seen him so active and stimulated!

I saw this & immediately wanted to try it for my Crowntail Betta, Kolyat. It is not wood at all, packaging doesn't say what it is made from, and it is heavier than I expected but it floats perfectly. The only downside for me personally is that dropping food in the hole at the top is a waste, my betta is too afraid to breathe out from it and will leave the log to catch his breath after napping inside. It does tend to float into a corner & stay there, but it is large enough a Betta can turn around inside the log with no trouble at all and get out when they wish too. ^_^
The box said it may take a day or 2 for Your Betta to get used to the log, but I think that is only if you have a skittish fish. Mine welcomed his new toy in less than an hour & I caught him napping inside.

at first when i bought this product i thought it would be pretty flimsy but it turns out,it wasnt! even though it moves around and possibly smashes your betta lightly against the tank because of a strong current i highly approve of this and my bettas love sleeping and eating inside.its color may start to rub off if you wash and rub it too hard. otherwise GREAT PRODUCT!

I was shocked at how big this thing is when it comes out of the box. I have a 2.5 gallon tank with some plants and a statute in it, this log is way too big to go inside their tank. I use the betta leaf hammock's instead.

The Zoo Med Floating Betta Log is a smart idea. My Betta fish plays, hide, and rests in this tank. The top hole makes it easy for the Betta to breathe through, which is quite convenient. In nature Betta's tend to sleep near the surface so they have easy access to air. This is the same concept with this log. It will make your Betta happy if you buy this. There is no sharp edges to tear your Betta fins. Some problems is that this log moves around, which can smash your Betta against the wall. I wished there were suction cups to keep this still. However the problem is easily fixed by tying a string around the log and anchor it with the hood. You need at least a 2.5 gallon tank to put this inside your tank. When I was cleaning the log, some black colored smear appeared on the cloth I was cleaning with. However, that really isn't a problem, it won't hurt you Betta in any way. The problems are not huge, so other than that, this product is great. I highly recommend this.
Pros: betta likes to hide sleep in log, no sharp edges, top feeding hole for betta to breathe
Cons: color comes off, moves around

My Betta, Punkin, LOVES his Betta log. He was very curious and a bit wary at first, but now he chills out in there and I feed him in his log. I've not had any problems with deterioration. This is a must for Betta lovers! Also, it's a good toy. He loves swimming in and out of it and creating bubble nests in it!

I have a male Betta in a 29 gallon community tank.
Took the Betta a few days to get comfortable with the log. At first I thought it was going to be a bust but now he spends time around the log and sleeps in it when he's not out and about.
I place food in the log to continually entice him as suggested on the box.
The quality of the log is so so at best. There are some jagged parts that may be uncomfortable to the Betta or even rip fins, though that has not happened yet. It IS a floating log and will move around the tank if it's large enough and if there is a current in the tank.
In the end, my Betta enjoys it and has made the log his home.
Pros: fun, great resting place for betta, adds to the tank
Cons: poor quality/rough craftsmanship, may damage betta fins

The Floating Betta Log is my Bettas' favorite spot
The Floating Betta Log is a great decoration and great habitat for Bettas. The great thing about this log is bettas can move it around their tank. I think if I were the one in the tank I would want to move things around too. My male is always in the log and my female goes in there too sometimes. I have seen both of them sitting inside at the same time. They looked pretty bored before I had this. The Floating Betta Log is a great improvement to my bettas' tank.
Pros: made to last, my bettas seem to enjoy it, attractive and natural looking

I was very hesitant on buying this, as I didnt think it was worth the price. After numerous times in the store, I finally bought it and I am really glad I did! My Betta loves it! It took awhile for him to actually go in, but now I have a hard time getting him out. I would highly recommend this product!

I LOVE this log and so does my betta. He took to it immediately and is always in it. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the paint is starting to chip off the log! I have not had it but 1 month and it is starting to deteriorate. I have been researching aquarium-safe paint so I plan to fix it, but for the price, this is annoying.
