I bought 2 of these crabs and well the 1st one excaped within a few days of me having him and the other one kept climbing to the top of the fake plant and jumping into the filter and he/she would be in their for hours eating junk and then it would climb down and out of the filter i had the 2nd crab for a while til it died.

This claw was great and I enjoyed him he even shed his claw once to regrow a bigger one. But he eventually escaped and I couldn't find him. I haven't been brave enough to get another one

I bought two of these to feed to my group of spotted puffer fish. They absolutely love eating them! Also, its enjoyable to watch! Great feeder!

I love these little crabs, they are SO easy to care for and I have had about 15 of these cuties since I have first heard about them. I totally recommend them for those crab fans!

These crabs are awesome pets i have 2 in a 40 gallon tank. they get along with most fish. whatever you do DO NOT PUT THESE CRABS WITH DWARF FROGS!!!!

These little fellas are interesting and fun to have but what most pet stores won't tell you is that they require brackish (they need some salt) water conditions, not freshwater. They also need a goodly amount of land/sand to scavenge on and dig in. Be sure to do your nitrogen cycle before putting the crab in a new tank. But if you give them the proper water and ph levels they will live up to 5 years (or longer perhaps) and are well worth the price you pay for them. They're entertaining when they scavenge for food and when they molt. They may eat their shells after they molt so it's good to leave it in there for them. I wouldn't recommend putting them in with fiddler crabs...bad things could happen. But they're fine on their own or with larger fish.

i got mine about a year ago and i just lost them.I had them in a 10 gal even though it said 20.They did just fine in a 10.You dont see much growth in them that much.I recamend 2 because 1 will get lonley. feed pellets and maybe minnows and crab food.dont live very long un less water is filtered and clean. Overall cute and extremely fun to watch.

hi.....I have a 30 gallon tank with 2 ballas,2 angel fish, 1 algae eater, 1 dwarf frog and 8 neon blue teteras and 2 of these crabs i had this tank a year ago and 1 of the crabs clibed out some how.....but the other 1 is fine.... do not buy this!!!!!

I love mine I got two.
They are real good together don't need a big tank I have a 5 gallon tank.
They love to clime in a little lawn chair I got em'.

but watch out as they can escape through opening is your hood. I loved having him in my tank even though he didnt do much at all.

ao i initially went out to buy some fiddlers, but no one had them and that's when i found this little guy, i have him in a 10 gallon right now with land access, a waterfall, and im slowly converting the tank to brackish. he just loves his waterfall which has a filter inside. he has alot of caves in their. im going to be getting him/her (got to see which one it is first) a boyfriend or a couple of girlfriends soon and am going to upgrade it to a 20 gallon long :) these are awesome as long as you have land access and brackish water!!

These crabs are cute and fun to watch. I would not recommend trying to hold them, as they are fast runners. I have three of them in a 55 gallon tank, so each crab has about one sq. foot of tank floor space, or more. I started with six crabs, but one was quite aggressive towards some of the others. I think that now they have enough space to themselves, so as not to feel they have to fight. They like to hide, so I have some rocks stacked up, with flatter rocks on top making small caves for each of them around the tank. The water is only about 4 inches deep, with room for them to climb out and dry off too, which they need to be able to do. The males have bigger, redder claws than the females, from what I've read. They are very interesting pets!

They are so cute to watch, but they are not really the holding kind of pet, so you should only buy this if you are 10 and older. My 3 year old nefue said "I don't like crab, I want hamster, crab scary.. hamster not scary." It was so cute!!! The crabs are very hard to tell anyone because it is not really the cutest kind of pet in the world.... but they are cool to watch and my oldest neese (she is 7) loves them, but I am still afraid to hold them:-/.

The red clawed crabs are fun to watch,easy to clean. i have four in a small tank i hold them and they dont pinch or bite me these are wonderful pets.

These crabs are great pets and can be housed with all sorts of fish in a large aquarium. They do not bother fish and will be fun and intriging to watch! I have 5 of these crabs in my 55 gallon tank with my pleco,sharks,snails,gouramis, and siver dollars. The crab does not bother any of them and he does not eat the plants either. My crabs do not seem to need sea salt, unlike fiddler crabs. The only problem is they love to hide all day. Other than that they are awsome!
Pros: great crab, fun to watch, easy to take care of, great tank cleaner
Cons: hides a little
