Omg! I love these guys! I have had two, one lived sadly only 4 months,..... but the other lived for more than a year! And she was very sweet, when I put my finger in the tank she would come right to it and rub against it! I also trained her to come when i lightly tapped on the glass, thats to prove how smart they are! Very cute little fish, I would recommend these to anyone :)

Fantastic fish!

I have had my crowntail for about 2 weeks now. He has an entire 15 gallon tank to himself with plants, hiding spots and a very clean tank environment. He is living the life. He is very interactive. He flares out his gills and fins and swims in place at the side of the tank whenever he sees me. He didn't like the filter when I bought it because it made a little noise and he didn't expect the bubbles to push him down when he swam at them haha. But he is stronger now and can swim through the entire tank happily. He is a picky eater, so i feed him the regular pellets and the bloodworms also. I recommend this fish highly!

I love my new Betta. He is gorgeous. Despite popular belief, your Betta does NOT need a five gallon tank. However, I wouldn't do less than one gallon. My fish is sweet and follows my finger around. He is fun to watch (for a fish, of course!) and he is very calming.

Like in my other review I love these fish and the way they look. I bought a female and I love her so much, all she does is swim all over the tank. I can't wait to get more females to start my sorority tank.

I really recommend bettas! They are a fish that loves people! If you live in a small apartment and can't have dogs or cats, a betta would be perfect for you.
Our two bettas, Angel and Juniper, are both as sweet as can be and like dogs and cats, they each have unique personalities. Angel, our pink and white betta LOVES people and is like a small dog. She loves to nibble our fingers and being petted. Juniper, our green betta with orange fins is more timid. She greets me when I feed her.
But before you get a betta, DON'T FORGET TO DO LOTS OF RESEARCH!

Even though crowntail and halfmoon bettas are nicer then regular bettas, there are still boring to watch. I recommend tropical fish, wich are usually pretty active. Although, if you're not ready for pets like that, I suggest bettas because they're easy to keep.

I was given a crowntail betta on Valentine's Day. He's my first fish ever, and I just adore him. I had no idea a fish could have so much personality. He's lively and always comes up to the glass when I stop to watch him.
He's easy to care for. I've got him in a 5-gallon tank with a low-flow filter and a 50-watt submersible heater that keeps the water at exactly 78 degrees, some soft silk plants and a moss ball. At first I was going to keep him in a bowl, but he seems to like having room to prowl around. I would definitely recommend bettas to anyone interested in keeping fish. Every time I pass the betta display, it's a struggle not to buy another tank and bring another betta home.

Just bought him today and named him Buddy Beta, I'm sure there are a billion Beta's named buddy but it felt appropriate. Both his sister Penny the Golden Doodle and his brother Ralf the cat think he's cool.

I have my male betta in a tank all my himself .... and he would not have it any other way. when i look at him he gets mad. when i feed him, he gets mad. when i change his water, he gets very mad. when i walk by him, well....he doesn't seem to like that either. With that being said, he's a beautiful fish and i love him. the 1 gal tank looks awesome and is very easy to care for. Nice brake from the work i have to put into my 60 gal tank!!! .....my only advise .... these little tanks need to be changed every week. i figured once a month (like my big tanks) was ok, but it stunk soooo bad and i felt bad for the fishy. then i did research ... and it is supposed to be weekly. opps

I have a crown tail Betta, his name is Mr.Bubbles. I got him when he was just a baby, I have a 1 in a half gallon tank I think. At least 1 gallon. This is a perfect fish (nicer then a regular betta). I am thinking of getting another soon. I will have to get a new fish tank because bettas fight they are known as the fighting fish.

I love me betta! he loves eating his pebbles and is very funny to watch swimming around his tank. They can live in any tank, but a 1.5 gallon or more is best so they can be the happiest they can be.

Such a Happy Little Fish

I've had Betta fish before. My current one, Louie, is from Petsmart and he is the most active and healthy fish I've had so far. I recommend letting them have a larger tank because they will swim around more and then you can add plants and things (Betta's love to hide and snuggle in the plants) and put a light on them (leave it on for 12 hours and leave it off for 12 hours). Small LED desk lamps work if they are on a small surface, like mine is at college, plus then the lamp won't over heat the little guy. Be nice to your fish!

Our little Betta, Dori, has been great. I was scared because I have personally had Bettas before that live a total of 5 days, but this Betta has been amazing. It brings both of my children joy and has been very easy to upkeep. I suggest getting a Betta from PetSmart, especially if you have young children. Once again, easy upkeep, easy feeding, easy cleaning, and just an all around great first pet!

I got my betta Liberty from here and I'm really happy with him. He's a halfmoon, he's white, red and blue and he's really active and he sort of glows. He's in a 2.5gallon tank that receives a 20% water change once a week and I wouldn't put him in anything smaller than that. I keep the blinds open on a north facing window so he gets indirect sunlight and he's really thriving. He's been taught how to flare on command when I put the end of his cleaning toothbrush near the glass of his tank. overall very happy with my fish and hope to spend lots of time with him.
