Very nice color but is very shy, unless it's feeding time. They might nip at other cichlids when feeding too. Other than that it's a great fish.

My Bumblebee Afrrican Chichlid is a very good and interesting pet to have in my aquarium. He's very active, and even though at the moment he is alone, he is still curious around the tank. He's very pretty and smart because he knows when I'm going to feed him. If your concerned about aggression, I wouldn't be because there not as aggressive as some people make them out to be. He's very peacful and I havn't expeirienced any problems with my cichlid.

When I first got my cichlids it was just a trial becuase I have never had any before. At first they were in a 10 gallon tank becuase I was putting them into a 36 gallon tank in my school. I had just a male at the time and he soon grew to six inches in just one summer. When school started and I got my cichlid in the tank he loved it. I then got him a female when I saw he was fully grown and also got some other types of cichlids to go in the same tank. They all get along well and I have had no problems with them getting along. The male will break up any fights and he seems to be very intelligent. They know when it is me when they are getting feed. They seem to not pay as much attention to anyone else but when i get near the tank they all come up to the glass to say hi. All in all they are hardy, easy to take care of, fun to watch, are very intelliget, and pretty too.

I love my bumblebee cichlid! It has an amazing personality. It is very friendly to me and will gladly take food out of my hand. It has amazing color changes due to its mood. Can go from a yellow with black stripe to a complete black in seconds. Like all cichlids can be very aggressive, so its best to keep with other africans. Make sure you have a large enough tank for these guys! I have had mine less than a year and mine is pushing 7 inches.
