This product worked great to keep my seats protected from muddy dog prints and hair! I like that the hammock reaches up between the front seats to keep my dog from climbing up front with me! However the underneath side started peeling off...you can't see it when the hammock is in the car but when I have to take it out for my non-pet passengers the peelings are always all over the seat! Quite a pain. If not for that I'd buy it again.

I like the hammock concept but I had two problems with this one. 1. The center zipper kept coming down despite the latch and 2. The surface was so slick that my 40+ lb. dog would just slide around every time I turned a corner. He had no traction so I exchanged it.

I love this thing! Any one that owns a pug knows they shed A LOT! Their pug is also difficult to remove. This hammock keeps 90% of the pug fur contained. Very little makes it way to the floor or through the seat belt holes. Once it is fitted to to your vehicle, it installs and can be removed in seconds. I love the little pockets too. I keep the tether for in the car in the pocket so I always have it when needed.
Most of the problems people had with this product could be easily eliminated if they TETHERED their dog in the vehicle, which is much safer for the dog and the passengers. Your dog would not be able to crawl under the hammock or jump over it if the dog were tethered. There is also a clip on the zippers. If you use the clip for its intended purpose the dog can not unzip the middle and get to the front (it would not be able to get up there is you tethered the dog).

Bought this about 2 years ago, I have an 06 Elantra Hatchback and 2 large dogs (~80 lbs each). The dogs have easily traveled tens of thousands of miles in the car over the years. I remove and put the hammock back in the car often and it shows some wear. The tethers that go around the headrests are starting to tear slightly and the zipper does not stay up very well any more. But I feel I have had tons of great use of it over the years.

rubber backing flaking off

Bought it Oct.'11, removed cover in Feb. '12, while cleaning car noticed the rubber backing has flacked off where the dog stands on the seat -63 lb. poodle. I have a 4 runner, consider it smallish but the cover only goes up 1/2 height of front and back seats so covered them with sheets to make cleaning easier; didn't look anything like the picture. The nylon fabric top is slippery so placed a rug over to help with that problem. It is great to catch sand -have to be careful when cleaning because the dirt goes down the holes for seat belts; believe this will happen with any brand of seat cover. Will use it until I find another cover but the rubber shouldn't come off within a few months use.

Not good for large dogs!

I have a large dog who is 100#. This hammock is WAY too flimsy! I have leather seats and it slides from side-to-side, especially when he jumps in and out. There are pvc pieces that tuck in-between the back & bottom of the seat - good concept, but worthless with a large/heavy dog. They pop out the second he jumps in. I fastened the seatbelts over it to increase the stability - it improved, but not my much. The zipper slides down constantly (even with the attachment that supposedly stops that). Today, my dog stepped down on the zipper - it split in the middle and will no longer zip up or down. I got about 6 weeks of usage and was not impressed. Poor quality.
This hammock would be great for a dog less than 60#. Not recommended for any heavier than that.

NOT Water Repellant

This is great for keeping the dog from flying onto the floor if you slam on the brakes, but it is NOT water repellant and the sides are easily moved when the dog moves back and forth. Also, the zipper in the middle easily slides down when dog leans into the front part of the hammock, making it easy for them to jump into the front seat.
If you are looking at this for a dog that gets car sick I would not recommend it. It WILL seep through onto your seats.

I have a small Toy Poodle and a small Miniature Poodle who ride with me to work every day. I looked at a lot of Travel Hammocks before I bought this one, which was in stock at my local Pet Smart. It fits perfectly in the back seat of my F-150 pick-up - not as well in the Ford Edge. But - this is about function more than form. Just this morning I had to slam on my brakes and it's very possible both dogs could have been hurt, especially my tiny toy who could have been seriously hurt - had I not had the travel hammock installed. It keeps them safe; they feel secure; I feel secure, and they aren't in the front seat trying to sit on my lap. I looked at other hammocks that had simulated sherpa on one side but opted not to get that type because it would too hard to clean. I can just put a blanket down if needed. It's more than high enough to keep the dogs from getting into the front seat. It took me a little while to figure out how to install it the first time but the instructions were clear and now it just takes a few minutes to move it from one vehicle to the other. The centre zipper is a great feature if I have a back seat passenger and don't want to completely remove the hammock. This is the BEST purchase I have made for my dogs.

Makes Life Easy

My fiance and I live out of province and we travel quite a bit. We have three dogs, and one gets car sick. Tired of cleaning up and scrubbing hard to get the stains out of the seats, we searched for a while for anything to cover them. Not only does this hammock cover our seats perfectly, but there is an added bonus of giving the dogs more space in the back to spread out and get comfortable, making long road trips bearable.
It also didn't take long to be tested and we found it to be extremely easy to clean. One spray down with a hose and a disinfectant wipe was all it needed. This was the same when the dogs were muddy, sandy, etc.
Also, I find my car-sick dog isn't sick as often when he's comfortably settled in his cozy hammock. We love this product. It has only made our lives easier. Definitely recommended for the person who takes their dogs on long trips and/or outside a lot.
Pros: easy to clean, easy to install, leash storage, comfortable for dogs

Have had it for a long time and it is durable and works with 2 dogs. Really like the velcroed opening so latching their seatbelts is easy. Excellent product.

Not to bad of a purchase...it covers the seat nicely and has a zipper on the seat to open and close the hammock part but it dosen't fit snuggly so it looks kinda sloppy. Also this dosen't keep my dog from jumping into the front seat. But it does keep the seats clean.

I got this product to protect my leather seats and help prevent my puppy from getting onto the floor during road trips. It does help protect the seats but it doesn't prevent him from getting on the floor. He just folds back the side and jumps on down. He also likes to chew on the zipper because of where it is located. It also doesn't fit my car well because my seats are built to where it doesn't tuck in to help keep it place. The back portion also isn't tall enough to cover the entire back part of the seat. It does the basic job of protecting the seat though.

I purchased this product when I was adopting my dog and traveling from PA to southeastern VA. This protected my seats, kept the dog from coming up between the front two seats, and kept him from falling off the back bench seats onto the floor when he lost his balance. The hammock gave him extra room to lay down and be comfortable. It was so easy to put in and I've loved keeping it in the car. It's also easy to take it out or half out to let someone sit in the backseat without getting dog fur all over them. Great product - HIGHLY recommend!
Pros: stays put, easy install

I originally got this a couple years ago because one of my dogs tends to get carsick and I got tired of vomit all over the back seat. But my dogs also love to go swimming in the river. By the time we'd get back to the car they'd be sopping wet and muddy. I'd try laying down towels or old blankets, but they'd just get wadded and shoved to one side, and the back of the seats couldn't be protected. The hammock fixed all that though. It keeps my seats clean and dry, no matter how gross the dogs are. All the straps keep it firmly in place, so there's no sliding around and bunching up. I even spilled gas on it and the hammock kept it from soaking through to the seat. It's easy to unclip and shake out or run through the washer. This has definitely saved my car.
