I had this product for two days before the leash started fraying and jamming. I'd even purchased a size larger than what I needed just in case my dog tried to pull (she didn't), but it's still broken. I'm checking for a manufacturer's website so I can get my money back.

I bought this leash less than 1 month ago. Today while walking my dog, the leash got jammed and I cannot fix it. I wish I would have read the reviews before buying it. Waste of money.

All the other reviews are right! this leash jammed while I was on a walk with my little dog. I had to carry my dog all the way home because the leash retracted so short that I couldn't walk him on it!! piece of rubbish.

I purchased this in the store, because I like the idea that it is not a "corded" line, instead it is the nylon flat leash. This leash does NOT retract and it gets tangled up in the dogs legs. She gets so frustrated with it, and I do as well. This leash is too expensive and it is not functional. Not worth the money!

The way its made is crazy because its not very ergonomic and that stupid clip is worthless! The tape gets jammed on inside mechanism over and over and then it starts to tear. The traction that is supposed to be so great just wasn't! Way too hard to use with it shaking and jerking! Forget it!

Cons: traction makes leash worse, leash tape gets jammed, leash tape tears, clip to tie dog out isn't sturdy

I knew this leash was garbage the minute I took it out of the packaging. It felt lightweight and flimsy. It does not retract properly, the button jams, the leash twists and gets pulled by the wind. My dog is constantly tangled in it. Within 3 days, it was frayed and the little plastic housing covering the seam on the leash fell off. I was horrified to see the seam that was holding the two parts of the leash together!! It was held together with a few stitches as possible!! I don't know what the policy is for returns without a refund, but I am sure that I will not be able to get my money back. I had my last leash for 9 years and am afraid that I will not be able to replace it - all the new ones seem to have this stupid "ribbon" type leash, which is apparently better because they won't cut you. Sadly, they are far inferior. I was never cut by my old leash and I am constantly infuriated by this one.

This leash is absolute garbage - it doesn't retract well, has an incredibly flimsy cord that my dog frayed in two days (which, frankly is dangerous) Awful awful awful. I wish I'd read these reviews before wasting my money.

This leash is junk! Right out of the package the lock button was sticking. The retract mechanism never worked well and within the first ten minutes of the first use, wouldn't retract at all. It is cheaply made, even the latch to clip to the dogs collar was small, loose and junk. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. DO NOT BUY!!

Pros: absolutely none!

Cons: lock button sticks and doesn't work, leash doesn't retract right and hangs and drags

This item broke within 5 days of buying it! The mechanism is extremely complicated, and prone to jamming. I replaced it with another exactly like it to give the company the benifit of the doubt, however, the second one is worse! I would not suggest it to anyone. I am now using the leash as a tie out because the leash jammed and the "revoloutionary" design allows for me to clip him to a tree...

Go with Flexi classic or comfort classic, trust me.

Pros: used as a tie out when broke

Cons: over complicated, stupid mechanism

I bought this product for my dog because I got a decent discount with my pet perks. I regretted the purchase within 24 hours. The dog immediately chewed through the first part of the leash, which was made out a flimsy rope fiber. We quickly remedied this with duct tape. The problems, however, did not stop. It doesn't retract when wet, and when it is pouring rain outside, this is not a good thing. The clip which can be used to secure a dog to a post didn't quite work as described as our dog figured out how to unlatch herself within a few minutes. We dropped the leash and it brought apart. We put it back together and it was fine for a day, but then it just stopped retracting all together. We had the leash for about 2 weeks before it was rendered unusable. I do not recommend this product.

Pros: clip is nice to carry bags

Cons: does not retract in rain, chord is easily destroyed, clip not good for clipping leash/dog, easily broken

I got the one for large breed. It was practically unusable for us. The ribbon is so lightweight and the retraction strength so low that my German Shepherd "hog tied" herself every few feet. It was so bad that on the first use I had to cut our walk short and come home to get my old leash to walk her with. If there is ANY wind at all forget it, the ribbon blows around everywhere and your dog will instantly get tangled. I took this one back and purchased a Flexi leash from PetSmart and LOVE it, that one works flawlessly and has the performance I was expecting with a retractable ribbon lead.

Cons: your dog will easily get tangled up in the ribbon, very low strenth retraction

I bought this leash a couple months ago and it is already broken. The ribbon never really retracted very well beginning after only a couple weeks of use, and now doesn't work at all. It gets twisted and caught up in itself. I have two Yorkies and the one I have this leash on all the time spins a lot to go potty and it gets tangled every time! :(

Save your $30 and buy something(anything) else!

I purchased this leash because I liked the "tie out" feature allowing you to tether your dog for short periods of time. That is the only good part about this product. The leash does NOT retract very efficiently and ends up getting caught up in you or your dog's legs. The whole ratcheting retractor system is a joke, it's really loud and doesn't work half the time. To top it off my dog was able to chew through the cord within 3 weeks of purchasing this leash!! This product looks good in theory but it was extremely disappointing and a waste of money.

After using lots of these retractable leashes, I can say this one is the best design I've seen.

First the pros:
-The webbing stays taut. This is cool because with my other leashes, it'd go slack and either my dog or me would get caught up in it. nice safety feature. Don't think i've ever seen this.
-The clip. When I go into STarbucks to get a cup o' joe I can quickly tether "Mean Max" (my gentle white lab) with a wrap and snap.

Now the cons: I like the idea of the design patterns, and would have liked to choose from some other patterns as well.

I've been using it twice a day and works great. Strong and useful. Ordered one for my sis.

Pros: safety ratchet mechanism, cool clip

Cons: more colors please

We were really excited to get this leash because it is a ribbon instead of a cord. It worked great at first but about 2 weeks after owning it we started having trouble with it. The leash is so lightweight that if it is windy at all it does not retract properly. Also the lock gets stuck and is nearly impossible to release. I am very disappointed in the quality of this leash and wish I would have chosen spend the money on a different leash.
