I've tried a few other litter mats which I simply ended up throwing away, they were either too small, or wouldn't stay put because they were too flimsy, or my cat just wouldn't walk on them because they hurt her paws. I saw this mat and thought it just might do the trick because of the little pockets in it. It does catch much of the litter, but I only gave it four stars as somehow my kitty still manages to track litter down the hallway. I still like this mat though because it is a very nice size, it's rubber and the little pockets in it does catch other stuff besides litter. Ms. kitty has had a couple of accidents outside the pan and this mat kept the floor clean, and it is definitely easy to clean. You can just spray it off outside. I have had mine for about a year or more now and it still looks like new. It is heavy enough to stay where you put it, so I do recommend it and I still haven't found any better.

Keeps the Box Clean

I had a rug under my litter box but the litter just got stuck in it, even after shaking it out or vacuuming. I tried a different cat mat, but both of my cats still have their claws so they just destroyed it. This is tougher/thicker plastic so it stands up to the test of their claws and all the litter shakes right off of it into the trash.

I bought this at the Petsmart store two months ago. I can't imagine being without this mat before! It really does catch most of the litter, and the color gray is a good one, as it "hides" the litter mess that it catches. I have about an inch of the edge under the box so it stays put. The size is perfect, and it's easy to roll up and shake outdoors.

Does it's job!

This mat is nice and cushiony so it's nice for my cat to step on. I have a large covered litter box and I recently switched to World's Best Cat Litter a couple months ago. The little holes in the mat catch everything that gets flicked or carried out of the box. So i no longer have a mess around the litter box or litter tracked in the house.

I own a litter robot and this is too small for me. I need 2, but any normal litter box this should work out great! The holes catch the litter, doesn't hurt your feet if you walk on it yourself. Comes in grey only, which I preferred. Overall great buy.

Pros: large, catches litter, waterproof

Finally a mat that works

After going through 2 other mats, this one finally does the job. The litter collects in the round compartments and pops right out when cleaning. It also protects my carpet when kitty - umm - aims too high. Very easy to clean and doesn't leave an odor like other mats. Great product!

Pros: easy to clean, stops litter from tracking

Cons: no color choice

Wonderfully Useful LARGE Under-Box Mat

Recently, a few of my babies decided that they would skip the litter box if they needed to urinate. Instead, they would do it in front of or beside the litter box - which was NOT fun for mommy to clean up. So I started to look for something to put under the box.

After talking to some friends, I discovered the Purr-fect Paws Litter Mat. Not only does it help keep litter deposits of the majority of my floor and carpet, it also catches the "misses" (aka they urinate on the mat rather than the carpet, making clean up MUCH easier). The mat itself is similar to a Rubbermaid mat, with lots of flex and areas to catch stray litter pieces. It is also extremely large - which might not work for a small household, but it does wonders for mine.

The mat combined with a high-sided litter box seemed to fix most of the carpet urination I had in the past. I can't wait how much better it works when I can afford both another mat (for the other area I keep two litter boxes is) as was as a third Booda Box with Stairs to replace the high-sided container I'm using now. Maybe, if I'm lucky, I'll be able to mostly rid my house of the cat urine smell all together!

Pros: very large, plastic not cloth, easy to clean, doesn't hold odor the way cloth does, urine doesn't leak through to the carpet

Cons: may be too big for some homes but can be cut down, no color selection - they are all gray
