I have had my Asian Long Tailed Lizard since November of last year, and I love him! Hes very hardy, and loves to hand around on my shoulder and drink out of my sink! They are very easy to love, and great for anyone that wants to start a hobby in reptiles!

Ive recently purchased a long tail lizard at petsmart.i have him in a standard 10gl tank.he has a few sticks in his tank and i just planted an exotic angel plant.half of his tank is heated from a heat lamp.he also has a shallow water bowl.i have about 3 inches of coconut bedding in his cage.i also mist his cage everyday for humidity.he doesnt mind being handled but hes alittle fast.he eats about 2 crickets a day.these animals are very hardy so they are perfect for beginners.if u have not ever had a lizard then this animal is perfect for you.you can add more then one in a tank assuming that you increase your tank size.you can also mix this lizard with other lizards like green and brown anoles.just make sure that you have enough water and food in there to feed them all.

These lizards are ok, mine doesnt like to be held which is kinda a bummer, LOL her name is bummer and she doesnt do much, she will run away if i take her out so if you want a pet that you would like to hold this is not the pet for you. If you want a pet you can hold I would suggest a bearded dragon or a leopard gecko. I have both, my beardie loves to snuggle up on my neck and just chill...my leopard gecko wont do that but she tollerates being held!

My long tailed is kept with a green and bahaman anole and they get along relatively well. There's the occasional tiff about food but nothing too serious. She is also the best at being handled! Great lizard to learn with!

I would recommend this pet to anybody who wants a fun beginner pet. Mine is named Whip. This lizard is one that needs basic tropical care. He is in a basic 10 gallon tank. Over all, this is a great pet!!

When I got my long-tailed lizard I was a little edgy on him. But once I've gotton to come and know him I would recomend this lizard to anyone who can mix-and-match lizards, give them attention, and hold them while they fall asleep. Thanks!

I've been asking my parents for some type of reptile for a while. They finally said yes, and I wanted a Chinese Water Dragon at first, but then realized I would need something a little bit easier to take care of at first. The Long Tailed Lizard was the perfect solution! He isn't all that big right now, about 5 inches, and currently we have him in a 10 gallon terrarium. They are very easy to take care of! I just have a hollowed log for him to sleep/hide under (which he also basks on during the day), a shallow water dish (which is really unnecessary because he doesn't drink out of it), a silk plant that covers the whole back of the terrarium, and a lizard starter kit which comes with lighting and little thermometer (everything you need besides bulbs for the lights). Cleaning out the cage isn't too hard. The only hard part is getting the lizard out and into a container for a short while. Just empty out the cage and rise it with half bleach and half water. Let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse it all out (after you clean out the bleach water, let it sit outside so the fumes from the bleach can't harm the lizard). Then just clean all the items in the cage (if they need to be) and put everything back in. It isn't as hard as it sounds (takes me about 30-40 mins to clean it out). Overall, they are great for beginners such as myself. I named mine Rex and he is adorable! He eats about three crickets a day and hides under his log during the night. We don't handle him (he's just way to fast and agile), but just watching him can be entertaining. So overall, Long Tailed Lizards are; adorable, never smell, easy to clean/feed, great for beginners, and worth every penny you spend on them.

We have 2 brown anoles and a long tailed lizard (Izzy). We have all fallen in love with Izzy as he is very willing to be held and very sociable. Both of our anoles are extremely wild and impossible to handle, but Izzy is both fun to watch and hold. Izzy loves to curl himself around the leaves in his habitat and is fun to watch eat. He basically sticks to live crickets and has little interest in other foods we have tried.

I purchased a Long-Tailed Lizard from Petsmart about a week ago. I named mine Rex. He is a cute little lizard. They are very tamable, and rex loves to sit on my arm all of the time. I would HIGHLY recommend this lizard to ANYONE who loves reptiles. The only problem is that if they can fit their head through something, they can fit their WHOLE BODY through it, so get a very secure screen lid.

These lizards are awsome i have 2 right now they are great for your first lizard they were my first and they are awsome. If you hold them when ever you have time they will be very happy you dont have to hold them all day or once a day they dont care theyer just happy to get out wenever. They are very sociable, you can keep them with green, and brown anoles.Green and brown anoles are hard to catch but when you catch them they are very sweet. Long tails have a very easy diet of crickets and/or mealworms. Their water bowl dosint have to be big.

The long tailed lizard is an exelent pet, but is able to hide in tiny spaces. I would recommend this reptile but be sure to make sure his cage is locked down. He nearly escaped his cage and I've only had him for one day! If you decide to get one, be sure not to open his cage when you don't need to because he/she will try to escape.
Only thing I don't like is that when I went to PETSMART, the workers there didn't even know what gender it was!! =[ [ I decided to flip a coin to determin gender =] lol ]

These lizards are a great first buy. I consider them a mix of a snake and a lizard. They are easily tamable, low priced, but just remember to care for them as you would a larger or more expensive lizard. I today have a female and a male who r now YouTube stars!! I highly recommend this pet to any lizard lover Experienced or otherwise!!
Pros: low price, tamable, playful
