I have 6 finches in total and have almost always bought my birds from breeders/bird shows. However I learned the hard way that breeders birds sometimes carry mites and even respiratory problems that can spread to my other birds. After a heartbreaking experience with some very expensive little birds I started checking out my local pet stores. I was very pleased with how the finches were kept and that the petsmart worker that helped me let me pick my bird and even inspect him.
-The two week return policy is what brought me in but the fact that I'd never need it is why I will come back!

I have a pair of these guys and they are very calm and quiet compared to other finches. They are housed with other finches but mostly stay together. They are not aggressive towards the others. They are a joy to have and make a great addition to any home or aviary.

Fun, lively little birds

I've had two orange-cheek waxbills for a couple of years & I do so enjoy them. Amongst other things they wag their tails! Really cute. I think just one of them sings, and it's a pretty little trill. Nothing harsh. They like to let me know if anything is amiss (low food or water)...and they sit together on their swing as well as fly about. They are cute, fun to watch & easy.
