I have had my gecko for 6 months now. I do not know why I decided I wanted him, because I have never been interested in lizards. I guess it was just seeing him in Petsmart. He is the cutest little pet ever. My kids love him too. He let me hold him right away, but I was respectful and kept it to a minimum while he adjusted. He loves to be held and he loves to crawl under my sweater, on my shoulder to peek out. He eats right out of my hand. He is such a joy to have and he stays in the livingroom with the family.

Pros: easy to keep, clean no smell, social, quiet

Cons: nothing

Today is my second day with little Noah Erik Sebastian and hes great. I have gotten him out and held him, and he and I are quite close. Although he isnt eating he looks comfortable in his habitat climbs on the little plants and rocks i have in there for him. I havent seen him eat or drink anything. Kinda scaring me, but i guess its normal. Bottom line is hes great hes asleep on my wrist now and i just love him!

My leo is a very good pet. Very calm and docile and it loves being held! I have had it for about 4 1/2 months and it absolutely loves its new home! I would recommend this to anyone who loves reptiles!

At the end of the summer it will be my 3rd year with my leopard gecko Cleo. (I didn't want to name her Leo, so I added the C). She is just now loosing her color to mature (physically)! She loves live crickets and some dry crickets now and then when I can't get to my local PetSmart. She is my baby, and dreaming of her dying in the middle of a wonderful dream is enough to turn it into a nightmare. She likes to lay on my stomach while I watch tv and I hold her often. Overall this is a great pet and I reccomend it. Here's my tip: for starters, don't get a super young one. I tried to get mine as young as possible, but they have more health hazards and have to be watched super close all the time. Try getting an older one if possible.

I purchased two Leopard Geckos two weeks ago. They are really neat indeed! Planning to get another one soon. Easy to care for, but one thing before you decide on purchasing any animal is do your research before you get something. It will be less stress to you and your fellow companion! But absolutely NO sand substrate for Leopard Geckos as it will cause impaction to your gecko and eventually kill it. In all, Leopard Geckos are easy to care for.

They take some time to warm up to you but after they get used to you they can crawl anywhere they want. If you make sure it is all shedded and no left overs you should be good.

I haven't yet purchased a gecko, but i have been able to handle them a bit in store and i got a nice look at several different varieties they have! The geckos here were very tame natured and colorful.

I got one of these little guys about a month ago and I love him!!! His name is Mamba and he is super friendly. It took a while for him to warm up to me but he loves people now, he even greets me when I come toward his cage. I definitely recommend leopard geckos to a beginning reptile owner or to people with kids.

I've had one of these guys for maybe 3 years. They are very easy to take care of. I love mine very much. I have named him Sonny. The price is very cheap but the supplies are not but defs worth it! :p

very happy to see theres still pet stores out there with afordable prices...i picked up 2 of these guys for around 20 bucks each thats half the price that ive seen anywhere...im even thinking about hittin the other petsmart and buy them out...ive had them before and they are great introducton to keeping reptiles.unlike alot of the other reptiles these lil guys dont need a uv light.you can easly house one of these lil guys in a 5 gal tank or 2-3 in a 20 gal. long (my favorite tank of tanks) its so versitile : )
these lil guys are prety much ground dwellers so you wont need a tall tank to keep them in..just get a small under the tank heater and place it on one side under the tank ,take a small butter bowl or the container they come in cut a hole it the top so they can climb in and out and put some paper towls in the bowl and wet it (they need a humid hide) place that bowl over the heater in the tank and keep it moist..
feed as needed : )
so basicly you can buy one of these and all the stuff to raise them for under 50 bucks!!!
theres also great info on youtube for anyone interested in gettin one of these....

I LOVE my Leopard Gecko! They're so friendly.
One thing I will say is, if you want one, have a lot of money set aside. I've spent $320 on just one gecko.
They are 100% worth the money :)

Information about the sexes and price of the Leopard Gecko. I had one a long time ago, his name was Rocky, he has long since passed. What a great pet! I am thinking about buying a new one but I would like two know if Petsmarts sells both genders of Leopard Gecko's and if the current price of 17.99 is permanent or because of a sale.

My leopard gecko, Nelson has been with me for 6 months. he has grown 2 inches! He is sooo friendly and all my friends love him. he lives in a 20 gallon, and eats mealworms. These little guys rock!! I recommend them to anyone over age 8. They are sooo interesting to watch too!

Well, I am not sure if he is indeed a boy, but lets just assume he is for now. We have had this little guy for about a week. We got him for my sons birthday, but my daughter and I love him to death. He loves his hides, climbs on and perches himself on the styrofoam rock background of his terrarium and is a hefty little eater. He generally does save his meals for the evening time, but we were lucky enough to catch one feeding on video...VERY COOL. He doesnt mind being held (although he hisses at my daughter...LOL) I think he likes the warmth of our hands. All in all a great beginner pet to teach a youngster responsibility without being too difficult to care for. I want more, but very hesitant to get any right now since we are unsure of the gender of this one. I cant wait though. I have been bitten by the gecko bug... i love them!!!

I have some geckos I got when I was 7 and I am 22 and they are still alive! They sit on my shoulder and I just love them so much! Cocoa,Lulu,GiGi and Paul! They are great pets!

I got my baby girl a little over a year ago and she has been great. Leopard geckos are very friendly and most never try to bite. Depending on your individual gecko, some like being out of their tank and some like not being bothered. I have raised mine since she was a month old and held her constantly, however she likes being left alone. Which I do not mind at all. Decorating their cages can be pretty fun, as well as watching them feed. Leopard geckos are good starter reptiles. They do require heat, a good diet of crickets and worms that have been gut loaded and calcium coated, a few hides and constant water. They are easy to take care of and can live for about 15 years on average if taken well care of. Makes a good pet for families that are serious about taking good care of their pet.

My female Leopard Gecko Devin has passed away but I got her when she was a baby about a month old and I had her for 13.5 years. I've had tons of pet lizards and of all the ones I had I definitely think she was the best. They live for 10-20 years (males live longer), they are very easy to care for, very clean animals (she only used one corner of her cage to go potty the entire time I had her), she was very friendly and I had been handling her from the time she was a baby. She always let me hold her, never tried to bite me, never jumped out of my hands. Also they are very pretty lizards. I love their markings and the different patterns/colors. If you've never had one make sure you have at least a 10 gallon tank with screen lid, provide a cave to put in one corner (spray inside the cave with water every day to help shedding), provide shallow water dish, it's nice to add some fake plants, use calcium sand as substrate, use a heating pad that goes underneath the sand and make sure to sprinkle food with the necessary vitamin supplements. Babies need to be feed everyday, adults every other day! They make great pets!

I just recently picked up Caine, my 1 year old male Leo. He is just beautiful, and is fairly active. I love watching him hunt the crickets in his care, and munch on some mealworms. Working on taming him a bit so we can both unwind with a movie at the end of the day. Got him in a nice big terrarium, with plenty of roaming room, fresh water, and several hides. Definitly recommend for someone who wants a nice, relatively low maintenance critter to spice up the house.
