I love Petsmart no doubt. But there name brand stuff typically don't work. Especially the air stones.. The first half worked, but none at the other end and i have a powerful air pump.

Well, I ended up with most of the issues other reviewers describe in one stone, except it didn't break yet. I have it connected alone to a Tetra Whisper 40 and it's in the bottom of a 18 in tall tank. At first, only the first inch or so bubbled, then the last inch, eventually increasing to about the last 4 inches; then the first inch started again. Presently, all but the middle six inches or so is bubbling. If I tilt it, or raise it, the pattern changes radically, or stops completely. About the only good thing, and why I gave it two stars instead of one, is it cleared out a bacteria bloom in about two hours. Actually, that was a really good thing. Who knows what the bubble pattern will evolve into as time passes; I've only had it for three hours, but this thing should have been made a lot more uniformly.

Not sure. How to review this. I started out trying to use this product with the top fin 2000 air pump. Was not getting bubbles throughout on the 12" model. Today I bought the top fin 3000 air pump. Still not getting a 12" bubble wall. Very good by connector but last half does not run well and last 3" give absolutely no bubbles. You guys that gave the 12" good reviews, what size pump are you using?

I love this airstone! I knew I needed some airstones for my new guppy tank, but I had planned on getting some small ones, more tubing, and a gangvalve. Instead, I saved a bunch of money from just buying this, and using leftover tubing, t-valve and a pump! My guppies love swimming in the current of the bubbles, and with my t-valve, I can easily control how much flow I want. If you don't have a t-valve (or set it to certain points), the bubbles will only come out from the start of the stone, so I would recommend a t-valve and a pump you're familiar with.

Pros: easy to install, quiet, lots of bubbles

I got the 12 inch airstone and it works great, a beautiful wall of bubbles. The cry baby's who wrote that bubbles only came out of the first couple inches dont have a powerful enough air pump. These type of airstones need a lot of air pressure. As for breaking mine was tough as nails.

Pros: powerful, easy to install, quiet, lots of bubbles

I am currently using my second airstone from Top Fin. I believe I have the smaller of the two sizes. I absolutely love this airstone. I have the airstone postioned at the back of my aquarium so that it creates a "bubble wall". My fish (guppies, zebra danios, and neon tetras) love to swim through the bubbles. The "bubble wall" created by the airstone adds so much fun and life to my aquarium. ***Sorry my pictures are kind of blurry...I just cleaned my tank and stirred up dirt***

These air stones by Top Fin are the worst ones I have ever seen or used. The products are defective and after trying 4 different ones, they all failed to provide any bubbles through the length of the air stone surface. These are poorly made. The good news is that PetSmart has excellent customer service and provided refunds on the items.

I thought they came from a bad batch, but after so many failures, it is clear that these products don't work at all.

Pros: easy to install

Cons: No Bubbles

I got this 12in airstone today and got it all set up. As far as ease of use goes it's pretty simple, plug airline to it and put it in the water. However as far as quality and performance go it's great if you only want the first 7 inches or so bubbling the last half is sporadic at best and the last 2-3 inches don't bubble at all. Call me crazy but I kinda expected 12 inches of bubbles with a 12 inch airstone not 6-7 inches and a few extra bubbles.

let me just say, this product split into three while i was trying to bury it under the gravel, which, is very hard. when it was working, the bubbles were very uneven and i was very disapointed. it looked like i had a coulple of litte airstones in a line, not a wall of bubbles as i had hoped.

When I connected it it made bubbles through the whole thing but then it reduced them to only the beginning of the connector, I don't know if it has something to do with the pump as I am using it with a pump for a 10 gal, I thought that maybe it's made for a more powerful pump but overall I didn't like this thing, I am buying another one, I also have the top fin round airstone, and that keeps working good even though I've been using it for 6 months.

Cons: No Bubbles, Hard to Install

I bought this last night, despite the bad reviews. I should have listened to them. This stone is complete junk. Air only came out where the hose was connected and when I went to take it out of the tank to remove the hose, the connector just crumbled. DO NOT BUY!

I bought one this evening and soon as I got home I plugged it in and bubbles was only coming out close to the input. When i went to take it out the tank on the way up it snapped In half. Horrible product. You'll be better of flushing your money down the toilet.

I just got the small one today. It was easy to put together, just connect the hose & put it in the water. My only problem with it was that my gravel wouldnt really weight it down and it took me awhile to mess with it to get it perfect. But it does work, the bubbles come out so nicely & gives the tank a good look while adding circulation.
