I got this tank for my goldfish, Grace. It fits perfectly on my dresser and doesn't look half bad. While it does have little slits for ventilation a lot of condensation occurs on the lid. And it gets humid. But, the water remains room temp./cold. The only thing is since so much condensation occurs the water starts to run out. And when they water becomes low the filter gets louder.. So you have to keep an eye on that. Another thing is since the filter is so strong it scatters away the pebbles directly under it so it exposes the bottom of the tank. It's not really a problem for me but I can see how it might be annoying to a perfectionist. Another pro of the tank is the filter keeps it VERY clean! I have had Grace for a year now and I only cleaned the tank out once! (it wasn't because of algae or dirt in the tank, I just thought she could use some fresh water) The last con I am gonna list is setting it up.. It's is pretty easy in the beginning. But when you latch on the lid it takes extreme precision and about ten tries. I have to be careful to not open it too much or too fast or else it becomes unlatched. But overall it has been a great tank. :)

Not what I ordered.

So I ordered this little tank for my cousins birthday, It looked so cute online but it ended up being nothing like what is advertised. The tank was not pink, but purple. The rocks are dark purple almost black. The filter is black. It didn't come with a mermaid ornament and it didn't even have a mermaid on the box. It came with mermaid stickers and a totally different background.

I agree with some of the comments on here; the tank is cute and it comes with everything you need. My advice to you... get a new filter. The one it comes with is not good. I am on my way to get a new filter for this tank. The filter it comes with is WAY too strong even in the lowest setting. So when the fishes are swimming towards the bottom of the tank they are fine but as they swim at the top at feeding time they are pushed all over the place. I recommend the "Tetra Whisper 3i In-Tank Filter" for about $10.99 at Petsmart. I own 2 of these already and with the one I will buy today that will be # 3. They are quiet except for a small humming sound from the air pump but other than that for a small aquarium for a couple of fishes it does the job!

Other than that the set up of this tank is great and my daughter LOVES it :) it matches her room!

We bought this set-up over a year ago for our then 4 yr old, who is now 5. It's simply darling! The filter has worked great and my daughter's beta fish is happy. The background paper part can get wet and ruined, so we laminated it before attaching it to the back of the tank. Other than that it's been darling and fun for our little girl.

I recently bought this cute little tank. It's a wonderful starter tank. It comes with a small, pink, compact filter that works wonders! I like it because Petsmart sells the same filter, so if I ever have problems, I don't have to mess with the warranty because it is fairly cheap. The filter may be small, but it has tremendous power for it's size. It comes with different settings for added aeration. Although this tank is ideal for a goldfish, I am using it to house ghost shrimp. I had to buy a heater for it. This tank also comes with a mermaid figurine and pink gravel. So far, I love this aquarium. I used to have a six gallon but I downsized to this 2.5 gallon just to keep it simple. I would definitely recommend this to beginners.

Nice aquarium. bought my daughter for Christmas. When it came time to clean, I could not find relacement filter. Did not sell in store, I was to check on Internet. Not there either. good for short term. plan to keep fish for long time, pick another tank

This tank comes with everything! We just set it up and now we are waiting 3 days because when you get a goldfish you need to wait about 3 days before introdusing your new goldfish to his new home. I would highly recomend this product. It's cute,and just perfect!

Pros: big pretty

Cons: mermaid and seahorse take up some room

Wow this product is a great one. In it's description I didn't find even 1 thing that wasen't true, it was all there, filter, decoration, cute background, just about everything! My fish swim happily along with PLENTY of room! It's also VERY attractive, as it matches my room perfectly- nice and pink! I couldve chose any other tank but I chose this one simply because it's the right one! Thanks Petsmart, great product!
