I had rescued my Betta from an owner keeping him in a little tiny fish bowl with unlivable conditions and purchased this tank for him to live in instead. This tank mixed with a few new plants has become his new home, and he loves it. The filter doesn't bother him too much because he swims all around it and even swims against the small current. It has plenty of space for a fairly active Betta. THE ONLY FLAWS: The filter propeller needs a quick kick start to move and when not seated right, it makes a loud humming noise. Also, this tank is hard to keep at a good temperature for Betta's and you can't use a heater with it. You also cannot remove the light to clean it.
Other than the filter and temp control, it's a great tank.

Pros: easy to install, sturdy

This tank is very small and really only good for a betta and very tiny fish. The air pump on the filter isn't reliable and may die after a few months, but air pumps are easy to find at a petstore.

There is a school of thought going around that bettas need a minimum of 5 gallons, and that's not true. If you keep their tank very clean and give them something to do, bettas will be happy in a gallon-sized tank.

I bought this tank for my guppies. So far this is a great tank, although the light is not removable and makes it tough to clean. Its size is perfect for three guppies and fits almost anywhere. I highly recommend this tank for smaller fish. I use it with a filter and it works great! I also recommend this tank for children.

A betta fish needs at LEAST 5 gallons with a heater (because they are tropical and need a steady temp between 78-82 degrees), gentle filter (because you don't want to live in your own waste, right? Also because with fish, ammonia is VERY bad and a filter need to clean it up), and more. For more proper care and info head over to Yahoo answers and ask.

Just a note to start, my version of this aquarium does not have the drawer, nor does it come with plants to attach to the bottom, but I did see it in PetSmart recently. Otherwise it seems to be the same. I've had this aquarium for almost three weeks, and my betta seems to like it. He builds bubble nests and is very active. I never knew bettas to zip around a tank, which goes to show how much better off they are with reasonable space than in the little prison cells that are among the betta homes pet stores sell. I am only using this 1.5 gallon aquarium because of space limitations, and would recommend a larger one if you have space so your fish will be happier. So far the filter is keeping the water clear, and makes a soft current, which is good since bettas are bothered by strong currents. However, the filter seemed to stop working a few days ago, and after I removed it and changed the cartridge it worked better. It is very slow though. I'm just a novice with aquariums but I'm wondering if the filter is strong enough to be effective. So I'm changing a third of the water each week just to make sure it stays clean. I'm hoping the filter lasts for a while since I haven't yet been able to find a filter that's soft enough for bettas for my other aquarium. The lid has an opening for the top of the filter, and smaller openings on either side, so a micro-heater and cord can be easily accomodated while the lid still fits well. Condensation does build up on the lid. The light can be adjusted up and down, and the LED is nice and bright, making the aquarium pleasing to look at. There is an on/off switch for the light, but the light's power is controlled by the same circuit as the filter. So if you want to turn off the filter, you have to un-plug it which turns off the light as well. Therefore if you want to feed your fish and not have the food get carried around by the filter current, he has to eat in the dark. Overall this is an excellent small aquarium for the money. If the filter does break down, you can either search for a functional and gentle enough filter to replace it (good luck-I'd like to know if you find one!) or just make sure you do frequent water changes.

I bought this tank [in the silver color], and had it for a long time before I used it. I finally set it up and ran it when I got my Ryukin goldfish, Midas, when he was very small (about an inch long). I let it run for about 3 days before adding the fish, and I had absolutely no problems with it health-wise with him. Since he was really small, I used this tank for about a month before upgrading to a new one.

Not too fond of the filtration, it needed to be cleaned weekly as well as the tank. But that could just be me. I like a more powerful filter, but hey, it's only a 1.5 gallon tank.

Overall, it looks pretty sharp, and I did like the overhanging LED light, with the simple switch on the right side to turn it on or off. That light also slides up and down, via the pole it's on, if you want it closer or further away from the actual tank.

But since it is so tiny, I wouldn't recommend anything larger than a few Tetra or something similar. My goldfish living in it was always going to be a temporary thing, but it did get the job done while I was using it.

Probably going to give it to my mother and put one or two Balloon-Belly Mollies in it for her.

I picked it out because of the style and size. I should have realized the clear top would make the tank look unnatractive because of condensation.

Had to buy a new filter because the one it came with broke as soon as I plugged it all in.

Be careful what you clean it with, the plastic will scratch.

It's good for it's price. I'm considering returning it for a more expensive one that I will be 100% satisfied with.

the one I bought in the store is a "Tetra brand", mine is call Tetra LED Aquarium kit, it look almost like this one, expect a few changes, for one it does not have that bottom draw thing, which I suppose is good, since that's seems to be a reason most people are saying that it's where it leak.
Mine look like a small stand under the tank.
Next is my filter, the one I got actually has a built in little motor, it's not operated by any air bubble unit.
it's really quite. the light is able to adjust to different heights, only thing i would say about the cover is the hole in the back there are 3 opening back there, the two on the side are for wires and tubes, but there is a big opening which i wish there was a cover for , i have small crabs that i hope don't climb out of. and the cover for the filter was really cheap , it bearly holds on and it only has 2 VERY TINY PLASTIC nubs that holds the cover on , which one broke right away when I was trying to put the cover on.
the bottom of the filter has a small opening that needs a screen cover, otherwise small fish, rock, sea life can be suck right in and you'll have sea food bits scatter through out your tank.

so the cons are: filter cover, and no screen gaurd for the bottom of the filter.

pros: good tank for the money, if space is an issue

We bought this for my 10 year old daughter to keep in her room, it is quiet and the filter is great. She has 2 fish in it and they seem to enjoy it. My only issue is the light is not removable so it makes getting the lid off a little difficult. But that wont stop me from getting another one later on. We have had this for 6+ months and no problems

Cons:
The acrylic scratches VERY easy, Really bad filter system, WAY too small to fit in a filter, heater, bubbler, plants, and a cave. I couldn't do it. Fish only had half of the room in there!
Pros: Easy to clean, and store in a smaller(ish) place, Little drawer on the bottom provides extra room for fish food, extra filter cartridges, and extra air stones.
Great lighting because it comes with a red and blue Lenses.

Over all, I would recommend this for a Betta fish, shrimp, snails or a frog, but be careful with the outside! :)

Great tank! I love this set perfect for starting an aquarium. Its been over 15 years since ive had one and needed everything. This has so much for great price! I love everything about the tank and its equipment except for the air pump. The whole system was easy to set up. I recommend following the directions tho because I didn’t think about certain things it told you to do in the directions. The air pump does not work very well. It does not generate enough air to pump the air though the tube to circulate the water through the filter. So I had to purchase a different pump, now everything works perfectly. The filter is easy to use and it keeps the tank clean. I have guppies in mine and only have to do a full water change about one a month.

Pros: easy to clean, sturdy, easy to install

I wanted a small tank for my college apartment. This tank is very cute and easy to use for a beginner fish-parent. :) I got adorable accessories from Petsmart for the inside of it and it looks so pretty when it's all lit up! I have 2 minnows and 2 snails in it.

i got 2 molly's about 4 weeks ago and they love this tank the light is perfect as a light in your room at night if you like to have a night light type of thing. at first you need to find a nice spot for the motor for the filter cause it will rattle which can be annoying! the first 4-5 nights that you have it in your room it will distract you cause its a new noise but then you get used to it. it is easy to clean and easy to assemble (duh) it gets scratched easily though. other than that i absolutely love this tank!

THIS FISH TANK IS AWESOME!!!!!! so i bought it today at petsmart. first before i left my house i called and they said they were out of stock. Then when i went there was only 5 left. At my house i assembled it with no problem. the filter is quiet and my fish love it. i used to own one of those betta marina kits and my fish had no room to swim in. the tank also came with the plant grid.

I have had this tank for about 3.5 years and, it has not failed me. It is nicely designed, looks great, and isn't expensive for the quality you get. The drawer under the tank is fine for storing small things and, it makes the tank look bigger than it actually is. The LEDs are great, they have been turned on all night for years. Another thing is the lights can be raise up. The lid has a smart design. It leaves space for the electronics in the tank (heater/filter) and, it has a feeding area. The tank itself is like a square, it is a small at the bottom, and is slightly larger at the top. The filter it comes with is junk. It breaks quickly and is loud. The pump vibrates around. The tubing will also will begin to turn pink overtime. The filter also looses power overtime. I manged to get 8 months out of the filter, nothing compared to my other filter (see review). If you ever have to do a 100% water change, cover up the power jack for the light. It will rust slowly overtime. You should cover it up with tape when you do 100% water changes. The acrylic scratches easily, so be careful when doing a water change. I like the plants. I don't like that they are plastic (I would have preferred fabric) but they are fine. What I like is that the stick to the bottom of the tank. I have, over the years, kept bettas and guppies in this tank. I think those are really the only fish that should be kept in this tank. I recently upgraded to a 5 gallon tank and it also makes a great hospital tank. Overall this is a perfect starter kit for many, as it includes almost all the necessities for starting out, just be prepared to change the filter.

Initially I fell in love with this tank, it was perfect for my solo fish and the price wasn't bad either. I have had this tank for exactly 10 days and the filter went on it. I tried to replace it with no luck. Im bummed and hopefully I can get a refund.
