Just bought this kit, the tank is well made, solid construction and clear glass. The LED fixture lights the tank up very evenly and nicely, I was really pleasantly surprised when I turned the light on. Note that the site says it contains fluorescent, but my kit came with LED which I'm happy with.
The filter works well and is very quiet. The heater also works very well, it seems to keep the temperature steady. Some may wonder why it doesn't come with an air pump, that's because you don't actually need one. Google it up, you'll see explanations.
It's a great starter kit, the price is good and the products work well. Highly recommended.

I bought this tank about 3 months ago with my christmas money, im 15, and love it. It came with the same high quality water conditioner i have in my drawer, and Stress and Slime coat samples to help the cycling along. I didnt really need the instructions being very handy but read them and they were very thorough. Since this was an upgrade from a 10 gallon I used filtration combined with this starter kit to have optimal filtration and my fish absolutely love it. Everything that came with was in great condition and worked right out of the box. The heater is very impressive and works great, the included full hood is a life saver (full hoods are so expensive these days). The filter pumps a heck of a lot of water which is great, within a week i had lots of beneficial bacteria growing in the filter cartridge. However it did not come with an air pump so make sure to pick up one before you start up your new tank. Also, if your air stone is going to be towards the center of the tank (like mine), you'll have a little bit of algae growth on the water side of the glass barrier between the tank and the light, but 10 minutes of washing in the laundry room sink and it came right off. Very high quality and very cost effective, much better choice than the "Grreat Choice" brand kit offered for cheaper. BUY IT !

This was the first aquarium that I bought. It was perfect for starting out. The only thing I would say is if you by this I would recommend getting another heater so that if one stops working the other will keep the temperature.
Right now I have one angelfish , a beta, and five tetras in it.
I really like the Top Fin tanks. I have the 75 gallon tank for my saltwater fish and it also is great.
If people are looking for a beginners tank this is a good one to start out with.

THIS FISH TANK IS SO AWESOME. It is my first fish tank I got this tank yesterday so I can't put fish in it yet because you have to wait 48 hr but it still looks great anyway. Even though It broke the glass on my desk it wasn't a big deal and I didn't know that I could weigh so much. Remember 20 gallons of water is about 160 pounds plus the gravel because for each gallon you have to add 1 pound of gravel plus decor plus the fishes weight plus the weight of the aquarium by its self so it adds up to about 200 pounds or more. Over all its a great tank definitly recommend it and remember have some desk or stand to hold 200 pounds or more.

I received this as a gift about 2 years ago. I have kept the tank and the hood, and that's about it. I have since upgraded the TopFin 20 Power filter to an Fluval Aquaclear 30, and the stock heater to a Marineland StealthPro to a Marineland Visi-therm, both the AquaClear and the Visi-Therm being excellent choices for a 20 gallon tank. This tank gives you a nice amount of room to begin your journey as a fishkeeper. I would recommend going with the tank and hood combo if your wanting to start out on a higher level, but that's if you have enough money to afford better equipment. So, all in all, it's a nice starter kit. Good luck, and happy fish keeping.

This kit is great for beginners! the only issue I had with it is that the hood sometimes would fall into the tank when I would try to remove it.

this is a great tank. i got it in my and it is november now. i have five black skirt tetras, 5 cory cats, 1 red fire gouromi, 1 blue gourami, 1 red tail shark, and 3 mystery snails. i got a marineland heater in the kit for some reason but it has had no problems. the only thing that i have had a problem with is the filter because my tank is over stocked so im going to add a 10 gallon top fin filter with it but the filter is perfectly quiet. im going to get a 29 gallon kit soon to go along with it.

This tank i got because my old 10 gallon tank was leaking. it came with everything I needed and more! The filter was not strong enough so I got a undergravel filter and ran it and the filter they provided. I have had it for 3 years and still no problems. I would recomend this to anyone who wants to start a fish tank.

I decided that I wanted to set up a tank, and this one has everything you NEED! Emphasis on "need". Some people are complaining that it doesn't have an air pump, but that's because you don't technically NEED one, although I definitely recommend getting one. Also a stand.
Anyway, I've had it for a few days, and so far it's doing great! I can't complain about the filter; the little amount of noise it makes is quite soothing.
This tank came with everything it said it did and does what is advertised. Love it and would def. recommend!!!

lots of people complain about top fin, but I think top fin is the best, sturdy, inexpensive brand out there! Everything top fin makes is high quality and a reasonable price. This tank is just the right thing for me. I have 1 neon blue dwarf gourami, 2 red minor tetras, 3 black neon tetras, and 4 cardinal tetras. This tank hold them all easily. It has a wonderful filter and the heater works very well. The feeding lid sometimes collects condensation, but that doesn't bother me.

This kit came with everything that I needed and more. I would definitely recommend this to someone just starting out. The tank size is large enough to house a small community of fish but small enough to maintain it easily. The only thing that I have to note is that the heater is quite strong. The lowest setting kept my aquarium at 76 degrees, so I turning the setting up slightly to make it 78-80 degrees. When I came back a little while later the tank was 86 degrees (no fish were in the tank yet). It's a very sensitive heater, so just be careful when adjusting it with fish present :)

This was the total package & more. Everything right out of the box worked wonderful & CONTINUES to work wonderful. So much so that I'm going back this weekend to buy another of this same setup. I have never had a fish tank before so are truly enjoying this. The heater keeps the water at the constant 78 degrees of which I set it. The filter is SUPER quiet. All around all apperances are wonderful as are ALL the outer and inner workings of this tank!

The tank is not too big but not too small. It is the perfect size for almost every type of basic starter fish. It is also a good size for a saltwater aquarium. It contains almost everything you need to get a tank up and running.

Great fish tank kit I think. I built my stand firmly out of 2x4's and can hold an elephant, then wrapped it with cedar. The only problem I am having with the kit is the water is clouding up alot after 2 weeks, but going to change it out this weekend. Not sure if its my fault or the filter ain't great but the filter is quiet. Use a razor knife to cut the back right two tabs out of the hood for the filter. A razor is sharp enough to cut the plastic, and skinny enough to stay in between the lines.

The fish tank looks great! I also bought the stand that it shows it also looks beautifull! The only negative part about the tank is the filter is a bit loud but i realy don't care. Once i got it i put all of my stuff in it and i was very happy with the results. It looks so much nicer then my old plastic fish tank that has a bunch of scraches on it. I know it came with a heater but i won't use it because it is so big and looks junky. But i do love that it came with a net, a bunch of free food samples and water conditioner! This fish tank is a great price! I recomend this tank to anyone!
