I read the previous reviews before buying this product and was a little skeptical. I only bought a little the first time and went back to buy more today. The birds emptied the feeder in about an hours time. The birds love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This seemed like a reasonable buy at only $9.99 for a 40 lb. bag. However, after filling up the bird feeder I found out why. The birds ate everything else at my setup but this food.
Cons: bird's don't like it

not impressed

This seed is a good price, however it is filled with milo seed (round brown balls), which is a filler seed only eaten by pigeons. The other birds flick it out of the feeder and it ends up all over the ground. There is very little black oil sunflower seeds, which tends to be the seed that attracts the more attractive wild birds like the scrub jays and grosbeaks.
Pros: cheap price
Cons: too much filler seed that is uneaten

This mix of seed doesn't attract the higher quality birds (at least not in SW Florida). Birds like cardinals, wild parakeets, tufted titmice, buntings, blue jays and red winged blackbirds toss the majority of the seed to the ground. To be fair, the package says it attracts sparrows and finches. We have an excess of sparrows, so I don't have to work to attract them. Even doves (mourning/ringed/rock) don't seem to enjoy this seed. I won't buy this type of seed again.
