This is your basic air pump. Nothing fancy. It puts out a steady air flow and works well if you get the right size for your tank. The only reason I gave it a lower score is due to the noise. This pump is Loud. With all the great new products theses days this pump reminds me of my first one from the early 80's.
I would strongly recommend spending the couple extra dollars and buying the Tetra Whisper.

I needed a pump to drive water through my 3 undergravel filters and this did the trick. It is quieter than my name-brand air pump that is rated at half the volume. The outlets are bright metal which makes easy connection. There is also a flow rate adjustment which is a nice touch. It is so quiet that I need to touch the air pump to make sure it is still running. I have the 80-gallon version in my 40 gallon tank. With the adjustable flow rate, low cost, high output and quiet operation, it makes a great pump for my setup.

I bought the battery operated pump for up to 30 gal. If you can make a sound proof box to put it in or put it outside it would be good. It makes great bubbles but is so noisy that I returned it the next day.

I've had the 8000 air pump for over 2 years now without any problems. It's on my 29 gallon tank running 2 air bars full length of tank, 2 small air bubblers, a small volcano, and the Cocotree & Wooden House Bubbler, i also had a treasure chest but i dropped it when cleaning. The pump is very quiet even turned the whole way up and just poors bubbles out of the air bars. I have 8 stainless steel valves with fine adjustment knobs on each one so i can fully adjust the flow of air to each decoration. I also set the 8000 pump on a thin rubber mat just to be safe. I am not able to hear it run over the filters. I also find it works better when hooking all 4 out puts on the 8000 pump together with sets of air valves.

Wayyy TOoo noisy... I plugged it in, moved it to several locations, and did try the mouse pad trick.. I also tried putting it on a mouse pad into a cardboard box lined with foam(big enough to have ample air flow) and still too loud. going back to store tonight...

I like the Top Fin Air Pump 1000, I really thought it was going to be a problem for me to put together very simple. It's very quieted and it look good on my table next to my Fish Tanks. My Fan Tail Gold Fishes are more active and that let me know that I gotten a very good product thanks Pet Smart, if I was A salesman I would re-amend this to every one who's looking for a simple and cheap air pump.

The pump is sitting inside the stand/cabinet, and I tried to set it on the carpet, but it's too loud. I capped the second air outlet, but it barely helps. It vibrates too much. I like the water flow and bubbles from the pump and filters, but the humming and vibration is too much. The air flow is good though, even using an bubble stone wand, and an ornament. I am able to get the amount of bubbles I like.

Had this pump a year or so in my ten gallon tank. This pump does the job required, theres not much to say. It gives plenty of bubbles, it runs quietly IF you reduce its ability to vibrate. Simply put it on a thick rubber mat / mousepad / old rubber phone case. I have it running 2 feet away from me as i type this and i can't even tell it's on. Solid product as long as you reduce vibration.

I have 2 of these pumps running in a 150 gallon tank. Says each pump is rated up to 170 gallons, but, I disagree. The air pressure is still very low. I used T-valves to connect all 4 outputs into a single air line. Each pump is running a curtain bubbler. The output is minimal. The pump works well on smaller setups, but does not have the force for the larger tanks. Only recommend for 100 gallon or smaller tanks.

I purchased the AIR 1000 for my 10 gallon tank, and it is way too powerful. My fish are afraid of it and stay on the other side of the tank. I will be returning it and trying the mini air pump. It is also quite loud.

I bought this 3 months ago and all ready its not putting out mich air. This is my second attempt to use this product and it has failed. The first time I got all most a year and that is bad too. I am changing to powerheads on up uplift tubes. I have a 75 salt and bough the up too 170 gallon tank and still it failed. Dont buy this product.

I have gone through 2 of these products, one rated for 10 gallons and the other 20. Out of the box the product is simple enough to use, simply plug it in, connect your air hose & you're off!

The performance of the product is very good when it comes to moving air; not so good at being quiet though. It is loud and will definitely be noticeable.

One of my two pumps also stopped working unexpectedly, water damage from the siphon effect was not the cause as the pump was above water level & valves were used.

Fair price for the power. Took it out of the box and was amazed at the size, but it is well built. I'm using it to run four different air stones/disks and not only does it run them, it actually increased the amount of aeration. It seems as though you could even use gang valves on each outlet if you desired. Overall very happy.

It was a great price and easy to control the air flow.For a month or two it was humming which was not a big deal but after that month or two it got soo horribly loud you could hear it outside of the room it was in so I had to get rid of it imediatly.I would buy nor recommend it to anyone.Not worth the price.Even as time went on it's performance got worse.

This is a basic air pump. I got the 2000 last week, but it only has one outlet which is sort of disappointing. I am currently using this pump for a bubble wall in my 20 gallon tank. It has great flow. As for the noise, the vibration is sort of annoying. Upon close inspection, I can tell that the motor works really hard inside of the plastic, with really no cushioning inbetween. Next time I get an air pump, I will probably go for tetra. There just higher quality.
