I got this product to use on one of my medium haired cats. He was so matted that I was afraid that I might have to have him shaved. I looked around and saw this. It took a little time to get used to it, but it really cut through the mess of mats. My cat is pretty tolerable and he seemed to handle the pulling of the hair pretty well. It took a few sessions to get all of the big mats out and after a couple, he didn't seem to mind. I'm sure he feels much better! I also have a shih tzu and while I do keep her short, I imagine this would come in handy on her as well.

i love this! my dog gets matts so easily, even with very regular brushing. this works better than any brush or comb.
you just have to make sure to go slow and hold the skin so it doesn't pull too much.
best purchase for dogs who matt. even huge matts can be taken out.

This thing is amazing. My 8 month old labradoodle gets mats around his face and jaw and no brush or comb has worked. We got him comfortable with the mat brush and now we can get all of his mats out without the groomer's help. Great product!
