I got this food for my first parakeet (Squirt) and he likes it. He hasn't tried other seed brands but he seems to like this one. However, I think they used artificial coloring, and there doesn't seem to be many natural colors (the more colorful the better). But overall, this is an okay product and Squirt is okay with it.

My parakeets didn't really like this food. Kaytee added food coloring and they don't eat the food that is colored. Also they only eat the seeds. Not worth buying. :(

My friend used this for her birds and they enjoyed this product very much, so when I got my birds, I immediately got this food for them.

It is great because it has seeds, like what they would eat in the wild plains of Australia, and pellets to balance their diets.

However, you may find that your birds prefer a few types of seeds or pellets over the others, and that is natural. Just make sure you supply them with a cuttle bone and mineral block at all times, which you should have anyway, and feed them veggies and fruits at least once a week. Birds who are fed this kind of diet tend to live longer.

Anyway, to sum it all up, this is a great product to buy for parakeets and is very healthy and tasty. I would recommend this product to anyone!

My parakeets do think that this food is tasty, but I would not recommend this to anyone. It had dyes, and seed is not natural food for parakeets. I recommend Harrisons Pellets. They are far better for your bird and they have many sizes. Seed is unhealthy, and i only use it to transfer birds from seed to pellets. Consider it.

I have fed Kaytee Forti-Diet Parakeet Foods for years to all my cockatiels and parakeets, most of whom have lived long and healthy lives. I like the way the seed is enriched with vitamins and now has probiotics and other good things. My 16-year old cockatiel and three little parakeets all eat this as their main food. I keep it in the freezer or refrigerator until I am ready to serve it. They all love it.

Pros: birds love this!

Cons: goes fast
