It's OK, Not too Great

My hamster will eat these, that's pretty rare because he's usually finicky. But he doesn't act like he loves these, either. This food being a block has a pro and a con.

Pro- They are always eating the WHOLE substance, getting all the nutrition

Con- A block is very boring, it doesn't encourage foraging

This bag also is great for the price. A 3 pound bag is lasting my robo forever!

Pros: price, high quality

Very Good Basic Mouse Diet

I have 3 female fancy mice who are spoiled rotten, treat-wise; however, their basic daily diet is Kaytee Forti-Diet Pro-Health Mouse and Rat Food. They all seem to enjoy the pellets, each grabbing one from the dish to carry off to their individual dining spots and munching away. The pellets are very low-odor and the texture does a good job helping the mice keep their teeth in shape through gnawing. The formula provides all of the needed dietary elements for mice and rats so you don't have to worry about supplements. Even with 3 mice, a bag lasts quite a while. Fine product, good value.

My hamster is picky, and doesn't touch the pellets in his mix, so I give him 2 of these every 2-3 days and he loves it! At first, take away ALL of the other mix, clean his cage and gives him 2 - 4 of these for a few weeks then offer 1 - 2 small spoonfuls of his mix with the blocks and he will have a balanced diet.

Willy likes it!

I got this food along with the great choice seed mix for hamsters, and Willy likes it! The blocks are a bit big for him (considering he is 6 weeks old) but he still enjoys it anyway! This is a very healthy block diet, but feeding it alone will get boring. To my astonishment, these bag lasts a long time! I feed Willy about 5 blocks every 2 days and mix a little less than 1/4 cup of great choice seed mix every other day. The bag does not smell weird like other pellet brands... It smells quite nice. :)

I was looking for something healthier to give both my rats, dwarf hamsters, and syrian hamster and thought this was the answer to my problems for all three. Well I was wrong becuase none of my babies liked this food (the large pellets), they just wanted to hide it all over their cages. They just where not interested in this food.

I bought this food for my two mice and they love it! The price isn't bad, and I like that it comes in pellets so my mice can't pick and choose. The only con is that some pellets were broken when I opened up the bag, but it's not a big deal.

My mice are very picky. They like grains and seed but no veggies or fruits, not even mention the pressed blocks. Then I found these and use them as daytime snack. My mice love it.

My Robo Dwarf Hamster hardly eats this. I try to lay off the seeds and other stuff I give him, but he hardly eats this. I give him one block a day, usually smaller ones. There was only one time in the two weeks I've had him where there was only a small amount of it left. Otherwise, there has never been a time when he has more than 3 quarters of the block.

This food is great it is the perfect balanced diet for your small pet because they can't pick what they want to eat out of it and leave the rest, and most hamsters that I know will pick out the sunflower seeds and leave the rest which is very bad for their health.

Excellent product- HORRIBLE bag

I'm on my second bag of this product and so far my rats love it. I used to go with mixed foods which they absolutely loved. The problem was that they would only grab the corn and crispies and leave the rest! Seemed rather unhealthy... After finding this, I thought I would give it a try. They run off with them to the bottom of the cage instantly. Makes them very happy.

The bag, however, is horribly low quality. Both of the bags I've purchased so far have had the freshness resealer rip wide open, completely defeating the purpose of it. If it wasn't for the bag, I'd have absolutely no problems with this stuff.

I really don't think it smells too terrible... but the rats like it.

My bro. bought the pellet food for his hammie (and I got some of it too:) and we are pleased with it! It does smell weird, but the package is really big! Thanks, Pet Smart for all of your products!

My hamster LOVES the pellets. He actually prefers them over the mix, fresh food AND his treats (then again, he hates the treats)
They smell horrendous but I only have to touch it once a day.
They may be expensive, but for the amount and time they last, its a bargain.
