My Lovies has known nothing else since I got them as youngin's. They enjoy the small pellets. The weird thing is...they do come out the same color as they go in. So you will have a rainbow on the bottom of the cage as well as around your house if you let them out, as I do. :)

I have a Peach-faced lovebird, named "Thor" by my 3 year old, that was rescued from someone's backyard! He had been eating wild bird seed from this person's feeder for who knows how long. While he has been with me, all he has wanted to eat is seed. He hates fruits and vegetables. He has HATED all other pellets. We tried Harrison's from the vet as well, and he would never convert, no matter what! I got Zupreem under the advice of an experienced, knowledgeable lovebird owner (long-time owner of multiple birds). My bird hates the original Zupreem, but LOVES the Fruit Blend.

The reason why I didn't give 5 stars:
The drawback to this food, as previously stated in another review, is that your bird will "shadoobee" in technicolor! It DOES stain; it even stains plastic! If you can deal with that knowing that your bird is getting better nutrition than just a giving a straight seed mix diet, than get this. I can deal. :)

I use Zupreem fruit blend to convert my lovebirds from seeds to pellets. They took to it pretty fast even though I still mixed in a little seeds at the beginning. Be prepare to see a little "wastefulness" at 1st. The birds being use to eating seeds will try to crack these open, resulting in half the food in the bottom of the cage. After a few days however they realized that it's not necessary and will eat it whole.
For some reasons my lovebirds refuse to eat the yellow babana shape pieces.

my vet recommended a nonseed diet and daisy would not even eat vegetables or fruit so i started trying all the different pellets available and the zupreem were the only ones she would eat! i agree with the other reviewer about the dye stains but she loves those zupreem fruit pellets. i can hear her crunching away even when she has put herself to bed.

Sadly , a few months ago I had been visiting petsmart every week returning and attempting to find pellets my birds will eat. After loss with all others I finally got them to eat these , infact I used them as treats in the beginning ! Im glad they love them, the colors are pretty and 'light up' their food dishes. I recommend them to anyone with picky birds, its worth a shot when switching to pellets.

I've given my Green Cheeks a variety of pellets and haven't had much luck with them. I tried this and I am pretty happy with the results. I give them less seeds now and more pellets. I see them eating these and find more dropped pellets in the tray than ever before. That is a pretty good sign that they are eating the pellets. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to stick to this variety of pellet.

Pros: smaller size for smaller beaks, easily breaks apart when birds bite a piece off, contains important nutrients

I have two Green Cheek Conures who like the food, they prefer seed or veggies over this food but will eat it if I offer nothing else. One of the reasons I don't like it, is the food coloring....it comes out the same color as it goes in and stains clothing and furniture...something to think about for those of you who actively get your birds out of their cages.

This product is great for picky eaters! My cockatiel would pick through the seeds and eat only what he wanted. But with this, all of the shapes and colors have the same nutritional value, so he can pick and choose what he wants!
