For the last 6 months or more there has been no run-off of carbon powder when first rinsing the new filters. Subsequently, I've noticed that I use more filters and have to clean the tanks more frequently. I've talked to a lot of enthusiasts who also feel that it's due to the carbon (or lack thereof). I called Aqueon in August of last year and talked to Customer Service. They said they'd talk to their quality control department. In the meantime, they sent me replacement Large and Medium filters. As stated, the large filters had no run-off and need to be replaced more often. The Medium ones worked fine, but not the large ones. I've had to put a very thin bag of carbon in the filter to aid in keeping my tanks clean. I have to assume that other fish owners have encountered the same problem.

Can not ask for better can you? They will make your Aqueon filter clean water as good as it did new. Holds a lot of waste and filters very well.
