I am surprised by the lower ratings here because these balls have created more play and fun for our cats than any other toy we've purchased. I love that the material is natural instead of plastic. We're buying more because they've completely used up the last pair -- the balls got them running and chasing, and rolling around - and you can slip more catnip in as the balls wear out and fray (which they will, but the cats were still nuts about them). Finally ordering them online because they've been sold out at the store nearest us the last two times we've gone in to buy them new ones.

These catnip toys lasted about 30 seconds when my cats played with them. My cats ripped apart the straw balls in order to get to the catnip packet inside the ball. The straw scraps made a huge mess around my house and my cats were completely bored with the toys after they ripped open the straw balls.
Total waste of money.

While my cats LOVED this toy (they sniffed it out under the Christmas tree and shredded the wrap to get to them), the toys only lasted about an hour before they tore apart the bamboo weave, ripped out the cat nip pack, and punctured a hole in that leaving a herb and bamboo trail of destruction across the house. Wonderful product, but not strong enough to hold up to my 7 lb petite prince and 16 lb fluffy monster.

My cats do not like this toy. They are totally uninterested in it. It is a very delicate toy. They started coming apart right after the 3-4 times my cats batted them around when I first brought them home. They have been sitting in the cat's toy box ever since slowly falling apart. I would not recommend this product.

I was very disappointed in the quality of the toy. It was destroyed within 15 minutes that I brought it home. My kitties chewed on it to get to the catnip. I thought with the Kong name it would be nearly indestructible. Sadly, not the case.
If your kitty only bats toys around, it would probably be ok.

My cat went crazy for these! He loved them and played with them for hours at a time, but they did unravel and fall apart within a couple days. They are woven and not tied off at the end, which makes them unravel easily. The cat also breaks the straw apart easily. I agree that the price is a bit much for how many you get and how long they last. If they were cheaper, I'd buy these all the time for my cat.

Pros: cats love them, natural material, simple

Cons: not durable, expensive for time they last

I bought two of these for my cats on my boy kitty's birthday and they absolutely love these toys. Both were destroyed in about a month, with the first being destroyed right away and each time they had the most "satisfied" looks on their face.

Considering they are extremely fragile I think you should get more than 2 for the price.

Pros: fun, catnip, rolls, lightweight

Cons: easily destroyed, to expensive for the quality

My kittens loved these when I bought them but within a few chews they were broken and falling apart, pieces of straw all over the floor. They are not durable what so ever. Same goes for the straw ball with the feathers attached.
