Really good product so far. I just recently got this for my Betta fish. He seems to be really enjoying it. I added a couple of plants and something for him to hide in. Also, I put a heater in the tank since they need 80 degree water and my room is normally cold. I'd recommend this for anyone wanting to purchase a Betta fish.
Pros: easy to clean, sturdy, easy to install

I use mine as a hospital tank for my nano reef tank. I am able to house a nano clown, herm, and one snail with some small mods. I do not use hood. I just added a LED from my Aqueon Evo 8, pico heater, and a pico circulation pump along with a good piece of live rock and keep it bare bottom. But I am using it as a hospital tank so its a temp for my small fish that live in my nano reef tank. I am very comfortable with nano/pico keeping so not for beginners but wanted to just post that it can be done.

The tank itself is fine, but the description says things like; cory cats, dwarf gouramis, and danios. Danios need a minimum of 5 gallons, because they are active fish. Corys need a heater, and there is no room for one. Finally, gouramis need 5 gallons as well, and they thrive in pairs, so there would be a total of 4 inches of fish at least, so what do you think? Is it worth the money? Think about it.

I really love this aquarium, I got the 2.5 for my betta and I really recommend it. This gives my betta the right amount of space and this tank is not hard to clean. The filter is a little strong, so I would suggest baffling it or just taking it out. I really hope you get this aquarium! I love it so much! Also, if you house a betta, make sure you also buy a heater! Betta fish require a water temperature of at least 78* F.

This tank is excellent! The filter can be strong but if you fill it close to the water exit it doesn't disturb the surface very much which won't stress out Rocky my betta. Rated at 5 stars for a great product at a great price. Just add a heater and you have a betta heaven.

Good, but not perfect

Had the tank for about a month now. Everything still seems to be working well. Have not had issues concerning algae growth because of the uncovered filter, but I do see how it could easily become a problem (still working on a cover I could place over the filter just in case.)
There is a cutout at the back of the lid that the manual says is to route cords through, but it seems excessively large and definitely doesn't help with evaporation (it's small enough though that I don't worry about our fish jumping out.) I do wish the filter was slimmer or something, so that most of tank was lighted (instead of about 2/3 since the filter is in the way.) Also, I think the bottom of the filter tube could be extended lower to create a more efficient water/filtering flow. Lastly, when we first got it the filter was just a smudge above dead silent--I had to place my ear a few inches from the tank in order to hear it running. Now after about a month, I can hear a low but distinct hum (I know it's the filter and not because it's vibrating against portions of the tank.) Followed the instructions and cleaned out all of the user-accessible portions of the filter (once so far), but it didn't help--I'm guessing it's the motor.
A nice plus about the tank (for our male betta at least) is that the filter is strong enough to remove floating particulates, but not too strong that our fish is avoiding the current. I was going to create a baffle to reduce the current once the tank's "cycle" is set up, but as I said the current is just right. The bow front is another plus as it helps magnify the colorful fins of our fish. Also, there's a small area behind the filter at the back of the tank that has minimal surface current, and that's where our betta makes his bubble nest (a sign of contentedness.)
I don't think the filter pads are difficult to find at all, but I wish they made ones without activated carbon in it, simply because it's unnecessary for everyday use. There is an overflow spillway beside the filter pad, so you know when it's time to definitely clean/replace the filter pad (I don't intend to replace the filter pad frequently since it houses beneficial bacteria, but I do rinse it occasionally to remove the bigger bits of filtered waste. I test the water weekly using the full API freshwater kit so I know this procedure is not detrimental to our fish's health...and I don't have to keep buying replacement pads.)
I got this on sale so I can't complain. It has room for improvement but it's definitely not a bad aquarium by any means. The manuals were straightforward and helpful.

Good tank but too many algae

This is a great deal with an all-included kits set-up, but the filter is not powerful enough. Algae growing up quikly and water is like chaos. However, when algae moved to filter catridge, tank water is crystal-clear but it is the time to change catridge. Last one, the tank cover doesn't fit well with the tank.

I bought this as an Upgrade to my Old Aquarium for my Beta. I had my Beta in a 1 1/2 Gallon when it was a Baby, but when it got Bigger I went for a Larger Tank. It is Roomy enough for some Plants and a Fish Cave. Plus as a Bonus it comes with a Filter, and Fish Food! This is also a Nice Setup for other Small fish.

My betta seems to be pretty happy with his tank :) I wish I would've gotten the 5 gallon tank though, i learned 2.5 gallons isn't quite enough for a betta. The only one problem I had was that the water is cloudy at the top. I don't know if that's because i put to much Condtioner in or what but it's always cloudy at the top.

I brought one of these a few week ago after upgrading one of my betta's from a 1.5 gallon tank to the 2.5 gallon tank. I liked it so much I went out and brought a second tank for my other betta. Thanks Aqueon.

Overall, this is a good tank. I had to replace the filter that came with this tank to duetto 50 because the original filter did not have adjustable flow. With my new filter, my betta is doing much better since he doesn't have to constantly fight against the current anymore. I would also recommend replacing the incandescent bulb that came with the hood with some daylight fluorescent bulb, if you also plan to have live plants in there.

This aquarium is perfect to keep one betta fish in or some other small tropical fish. It comes with everything you need except for a thermometer and heater. All you have to do is add fish and gravel and decorations and well la! Its perfect. The only problem I had with this aquarium was around month 3 of it. The filter broke and sounded like a truck. We think it broke because our power was flickering on and off so it wasnt the manufactures fault. We went to pestmart the next day and they didnt have the same filter in stock but no problem they gopt us another great filter for free! I have had this aquarium and my fish Mr. Bubbles for about 7 and half months now.!

I bought this tank about a month ago and it is great. I haven't had to change the water once and it just now needs a replacement cartridge for the filter. I have 2 goldfish and a snail in this tank. I would recommend this tank to anyone with 1 or 2 fish. The only thing wrong with this tank is the light makes the water too hot but I have mine in a well lit area so I don't use the light.

I bought this tank for my betta fish, Apollo. After upgrading his tank, he was delighted and loved the amount of room that was available. In addition, this tank features a light and filter. The light works well and really shows off my little fish to his best advantage.
However--the filter was problematic. While it was quiet (as advertised) it almost killed my fish! If your fish is a jumper, as my little guy is, then they can easily jump into the filter. I was very lucky that I heard him leap into it and was able to get him out immediately. Luckily he was no worse for wear, but I would suggest not using the filter (the filter also takes up a quite a bit of space inside the tank).
Overall, I really liked the tank, and it would have gotten 5 stars if it hadn't been for the filter debacle.
