I love this bedding when combined with another. But I wouldn't recommend as the sole bedding. It gets messy VERY fast. It not very good with absorbing odor or urine. It's hard to clean when it gets wet. And it's pretty expensive. I use it for my four mice. And they LOVE it. But I put a laying of Sun Seed Fresh World Bedding down first (with is a GREAT product). And with the combination of the two litters it's great. My mice love being able to digging around in the Eco Bedding and make tunnels and beds out of it. And it goes a long way. I only need a hand full or two to put in their cage. Because it expands very well.

Pros: low dust

Cons: Doesn't Eliminate Odor, messy

I bought this bedding yesterday for my two rats Reggie and Ralph. They LOVE it!!!! I have allergies and so does Ralph. It is the best bedding I have found! I had Carefresh Ultra and both the rats and I kept sneezing. With this bedding we haven't sneezed at all!!! Please get this bedding if you have rats or any other animals!!! It is MUCH MUCH cheaper than any of the other Carefreshes or any other beddings besides aspen which I didn't like at all because it had a weird smell and didn't absorb very well at ALL!!!!! I got the brown normal ECO Bedding and it is wonderful!

PROS: hyper-allergenic, rats love to burrow in it, comes in different colors, and safe for the environment

CONS: none!!!!!!!!!!

I've tried many kinds of bedding and this ECO bedding is my favourite! In particular, the brown rather than the pink or blue. I've noticed the Canadian and U.S. stores seem to be doing away with the product and I'm very upset about that. They seem to carry a lot of the Carefresh bedding and even though it states that it's dust free, it's not. I hate it.

SO SAD THEY DON'T SELL THE BIG BAG!!!

I loved this product and used it for my guinea pigs and rabbits all the time. It was cheap and very worth the price when it got more expensive. I didn't have to worry about my guinea pigs and rabbits cages smelling at all the whole week. And then they stopped selling the HUGE bag at my petsmart. It was the best bedding I have ever found after 3 years of searching and now they don't sell it. :( Even when I looked online I don't see it as much as I did so I'm going back to newspaper, aspen shavings, and fresh hay. But I hope that they bring it back. They really need to. I don't know about what other people thought but I have 4 piggies and 2 buns and they thought it was better than anything they have even used. It always caused the pigs to popcorn and the rabbits to flip out too. That is the only problem that I have with this bedding is that they don't sell it anymore. Another plus is because it is long strips it doesn't stick to my bunnies and piggies feet when they are let out to play every day. Before I used different bedding and every day I would have to vacuum the floor because of the bedding that was dragged all over. But I am soooooo sad they don't sell it at my store anymore. Hope they will bring it back soon.

Brought this to try after using the denser paper bedding. Saw some complain about the lack of density. What I do is layer bottom of cage and compact first layer by pushing it down, then I add a second layer which is fluffy. Hammy will end up burrowing and can move bedding to nest. I have had no issues with odor and a big bag last awhile with weekly cleanings. Hammy looks very comfy.

I bought this bag because I wanted a dust free bedding for my rats. It was dust free which was good. But when I cleaned both my rats' and rabbit's cage, I had emptied out the whole bag. It didn't control the odor very well in my rabbit's cage and in both of my pet's cages, the feces were scattered everywhere. It was sitting on the ground,under the bedding. The only good things about this bedding is that it's economical and it's dust free.

My gerbils and I love this bedding. It doesn't aggravate my allergies and its very low dust. My gerbils make great burrows in their aquarium with this bedding. I get the odor control version and never catch a whiff of unpleasant odors. I recommend this for all gerbil owners!

I use this bedding for my guinea pigs and it works great. It is excellent at absorbing moisture and odors. Wet bedding sinks to the bottom and is covered by dry bedding. This controls the smell and also gives the animals a nice dry environment. It is also dust-free, which is important for animals like guinea pigs, because they are prone to respiratory problems.

Pros: absorbent, odor control, dust free

I have used this for a guinea pig and gerbils and it is a fantastic choice. It is not the best for the guinea pig because it is not as absorbent as it could be, but mixed with something else it is great! The gerbils absolutely LOVE it! They burrow in it constantly and don't need anything extra to sleep in. Its 100% dust free and keeps odors in relatively well.

Pros: great for burrowing, gerbils love it

Cons: could be more absorbent

This bedding is great! my hamster really likes to make nests (as do most) and so with this one it fluffs up quite nicely and she could make a proper nest and burrow through it. She enjoyed playing in it. It is dust free and so quite healthy for small animals to be in. It is better than pine/cedar beddings which have oils in them that are hazardous to pets, this one has no oils or scents that could hurt your pet.

it is a bit non absorbant i found.. but if you are cleaning your cage regularly or use a litter box it is not a problem.

Pros: fluffs up, good for animals to burrow in, no dust, safe for their lungs!

Cons: not quite as absorbant as it could be

Great For My Hamster and the Environment!

The store I got my hamster from used the Carefresh bedding and reccomended it, but I insisted on buying this bedding because it was good for the environment and thought my hamster would like it. Turns out, even though the store reccomended Carefresh, my hamster liked this more! And most bedding packages say that the bedding reduces odor and then it doesn't , I can't smell a thing usig this bedding! I also read reveiws on one "odor neutrolizing" bedding and the user said that it molded and didn't take away the odor, but not this. It really works! I highly reccomend and love it and am sure your hamster will, too.
