I bought this product for the first time a week a go today. My husband got me a puppy from some friends their dog quit feeding them, the puppy was only 3 weeks old. i knew she was too young to be without her mom, so i went to petsmart and i bought this product along with the nursing bottle. WOW i was so thankful because she has almost doubled her weight in a week, the vet said she is doing great. the product mixes fine all you have to do is measure out the powder and double the amount of water (i use warm water)shake it up for a few seconds and the puppy loves it. (i feed from a bottle) Thanks a million

Our chi had her 1st litter
she was not producing milk and singled out a pup not to feed-we gave that pup and the next smallest pup this product. Within 36 hrs of feeding every 3 hrs round clock both pups were weighting in the same range of their 2 sisters. We also gave the mother the same product. Now we did mix it with unflavored Pedialyte.
The mother is now producing enough milk for the pups.
This does separate but use an eye dropper instead of a bottle and it works just fine!

This stuff separates out into powder visible in the "milk" within seconds and I am pretty sure has nothing like the fat content advertised since ( unlike other products we have used) cooled milk shows NO cream layer when cooled.
We had to THROW AWAY the can because our puppy didn't gain any weight on it.
Opinion?
DO NOT BUY!!

Food Of The Gods For Puppies!

I'm just starting to wean a litter of pups whose dam stopped nursing a few weeks earlier than we'd have liked, and this stuff (as well as the GNC equivalent available here) has been just awesome for them! They're huge, healthy, and happy! It was also great while mom was still nursing her pups. We'd supplement her natural milk with this stuff once a day or so to give her a break, and we gave it to her as well to supplement her diet and ensure that we were replacing everything those voracious little monsters... I mean those cute little puppies were taking out of her.
And don't worry, it mixes EASILY in water! We used a driving cup with a screw-on lid and drinking nozzle. Measure out the powder, add twice the volume of water, screw on the lid and shake for 5 seconds or so. You're ready to go!
More importantly, this stuff rocks because it's rich in colostrum, a unique kind of milk which their mother's body only produces for a very short time after they're born. The amount present in mom's milk is highest during the first feeding, and quickly decreases to nil after the first few feedings. Look it up if you want to maximize the well being of your puppies, I'm glad I did!
The bottom line is that I have a litter of pups that are by far the healthiest, most robust pups of their breed I've ever seen, and I've seen more than a few litters over the years. I believe this product contributed a great deal to the results I'm getting so far! It's pretty expensive to keep on hand (over $150/week in our case), but the results were well worth it. And lest I forget, the pups LOVE this stuff, and they'll love you for feeding it to them!

I followed the Mixing Directions on the container, only 50% of the powder dissolved even after shaking the mixture for an hour. I tried again following instructions from 'Wildlife rehab site', use a blender to blend the powder with very hot water (app. 175 degrees F), still not dissolved. I tried again boiling the powder and then blended the mixture with a a stick blender, still not dissolved.
SAD....
