My dogs breath has become bad due to getting older and it has to do with the teeth. Someone had mentioned getting this to put in the drinking water so I shopped the other brands and this was the least expensive so I tried it and it worked! No more bad breath and she still needs her yearly teeth cleaning though but this really helps. Now I can give her more loves without being offended by my poor baby's breath! Love it!
Pros: taste, freshens breath, cleans teeth

I have 2 dogs and they don't let me clean their teeth and because it is so expensive to have their Dr do it I use this product in their water in conjunction to Dr perscription dental food and on one of my dogs last vet visit, I thought he would tell me she needed her teeth cleaned and he said that her teeth weren't in needof deep cleaning and to come back in a few months. I can see and smell the difference.
Pros: cleans teeth, freshens breath

I love this product. I have a yorkie maltese and he is a pretty finicky eater so reading these reviews and knowing that some dogs wouldn't drink it, I was a bit worried. He does indeed drink his water just as normal and his breath smells immensely better. I will definitely buy more.

The bottle says you will see results in a week - I used this product everyday for my dog for 3 weeks and saw 0% improvement. My dog had his teeth cleaned a couple months ago and has gone back to "bad breath" so I thought I would give this a try. I'm still on the lookout for a great product that will improve my dog's bad breath.

We bought this with low expectations, but were very pleasantly surprised by how effective it has been at improving our dog's bad breath. To address concerns in other reviews: if you put it in the bowl and then blast water on top of it, it will foam. So, add the breath rinse after filling the water bowl, and stir it around a little. Also- we started by adding a small amount to the water bowl, then increased it gradually to get closer to the recommended dose. if you suddenly add a full dosage of spearmint-scented stuff to the water bowl, I am sure that would turn off some pets. Our three dogs do not seem to care at all that we have added something to their water, but introducing a new flavor gradually is more likely to be successful than a sudden change. After a few days of this rinse in the water bowl, our worst offender had vastly improved breath. A very welcome change!!

Dog won't drink it

While I've only had this product for 3 days, I've noticed that my dog no longer drinks his water. He took one sip and immediately walked away. I encouraged him to try again, which he did, and I praised him afterward, but he still will not drink his bowl of water with this product in it. He goes to his bowl when he's thirsty, smells it, sometimes sticks his tongue in, and then decides not to drink afterall. I followed the directions on the bottle, but it must have a taste that he finds unappetizing. Needless to say, I won't be purchasing this product again.

Prior to my recent adoption of two puppies, I had a maine coon cat (Teddy--RIP) who had diabetes and several other health related problems. The glucose build up in my cat's mouth let to tooth decay and really, rancid breath. The dental extraction and treatment needed for my cat was about $2000. Not wanting to face such a predictament again, I decided to be proactive with the puppies' dental health and try this product out. First, I have to say that the solution does have a slight minty smell, but since my puppies had it from the get-go, they had no problems drinking or digesting it. Second, it has been effective on what we in my family refer to as their "toasty breath"--a meaty kinda smokey smell we think is from their food or teething. Now, while I can't say the puppies have minty fresh breath, I can say that their breath doesn't seem to have any real odor--which make their incessant licking a much more pleasant experience for us all. Their recent trip to the groomers gave their teeth an excellent rating, but then again, they are only 5 months old. I recommend this product to others and hope to report back on its long-term positive effects!

I have a Yorkie and a Toy Poodle. I wouldn't say their breath was deadly but they definitely could of used some help. I purchased this product about 3 weeks ago and I have to tell you, it works! Their breath has definitely improved. I would recommend this product for dogs that have mild bad breath. I cant say it will work as good for dogs with extremely bad breath since my doggies breath is not that bad.
Pros: just pour right into the water

Add this to your dog's water bowl approx 1 cap full per small bowl...two with a larger bowl. Give it about two to three days - you will DEFINITELY notice an improvement. Plus, you'll notice that your dog drinks even more water which is always a plus for active dogs!!!
Pros: noticeable improvement
